An aircraft exited one of the taxiways at Syracuse Hancock International Airport Tuesday morning.
According to the Syracuse Regional Airport Authority, that operates the airport, a plane carrying 61 passengers exited one of the taxiways north of the main runway around 7:30a and went onto the grass.
Passengers and their luggage were taken back to the terminal building while crews worked to remove the aircraft from the grass.
No injuries were reported and the airport remained open and operational.

More equity hiring? Possibly but only in that the pilot was not from a northern region and was not familiar with driving a car on snow, much less taxiing and airplane. Syracuse had snowy conditions Tuesday morning.

No doubt this is Trump’s fault.

Glad they’re okay.
Humorist Lewis Grizzard hated flying. He pointed out that soon after the first flights there was the first death in an air crash. In 1908 Lt. Thomas E. Selfridge died. His name was honored at Selfridge Air Force Base, later ANG Base in Michigan.

Syracuse has an international airport? Why? A puddle jumper to Toronto?

I used to fly into Rochester for business quite often. Somehow it was mostly in winter. There were many times I could not see the runway because of all of the snow. I saw one jet run into a ditch due to snow conditions.

So what? I used to fly to
Hector International Airport a lot. But the only reason that International is in its title is because U.S. Customs occasionally clears inbound freight from Winnipeg. There is no passenger service.

Hancock International? Syracuse??? Reminds me of a Reserves summer camp I did at Camp Drum in the early 70s. Nearby was Watertown,NY...home of Watertown International Airport. Watertown is about 10 miles from the Canadian border.
