As the Pentagon’s independent weapon tester, the Director of Operational Test and Evaluation (DOT&E), points out serious performance flaws aboard the U.S. Navy’s $13.3 billion USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN-78) aircraft carrier, the U.S. Navy wants observers to believe the new supercarrier is ready for combat.
The carrier, just entering the DOT&E’s Initial Operational Test and Evaluation (IOT&E) test-and-trials phase, is certainly capable of doing all the basic things carriers do—the ship can stay afloat, launch aircraft, and travel from port to port.
But there is a big difference between basic operations and true battle-readiness.

always there to put America’s military down, aren’t you
Every new ship weapons platform is inadequate and unproven. Most of the blather is about pitching for more funds. Forbes is just playing the dutiful military complex propogandist.
In the next war, all carriers will become submarines...................
Canadians that insert themselves into America’s domestic politics are just asking for America to give them the shaft when the worm turns. Speaking for myself, I’m thinking less and less of Canada and Canadians every day. When the elephant rolls over the mouse dies.
They tried to put too many brand new systems and platforms into this ship. The result is teething troubles that go on year after year. Chief among them is the EMALS system.
On first day of battle in WWIII all aircraft carriers become obsolete. That day will be as transformative as 12/7/41, the day the battleship became obsolete or 3/8/1862 when the Merrimac made every ship in every navy obsolete.
Since Forbes is pushing against deployment of the the Gerald R. Ford, I am for deployment - they are ready. I don’t need to waste a few minutes of my life actually reading Forbes, because they are a leftist propaganda rag. Anyone quoting this rag probably has some ‘closet’ leftist leanings (LOL).
A guy like you, who demands we send more every three weeks to vinyl pants than this carrier costs, doesn’t care about a few billion in cost overruns. Whatever the Pentagon says, right? Just think, the money we’ve already pi$$ed away on your life or death Uke corruption would have bought TEN of these.
Maybe, but to assume somehow other countries have surpassed all capabilities of the US military I think is equally naïve.
The real strength often lies in a mixture of competent personal and logistical resources.
Amateur’s argue tactics and strategies, military professionals manage logistics.
Pretty CGI.
Nice try, troll.
They are "our" military only is the sense that we are forced to pay for it. The officer corps get critical race theory at the military academies. They will massacre Americans if ordered.
As far as I'm concerned this is a story about an enemy aircraft carrier.
Ain’t it, though?
Let’s get to the really important question: Is the Carrier LGTQBTXYZ friendly?
Obvious to everyone but the Pentagon admirals.
I wouldn’t even want to consider what goes on on a U.S. Navy ship at sea these days.
You are grossly uninformed.
But go ahead: Keep embarrassing yourself.
