This carrier will be of great value for intimidation purposes and showing the flag in our new Cold War world. In an actual shooting war with the Russians or Chinese, the antiquated Russian relic, the Admiral Kuznetsov https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russian_aircraft_carrier_Admiral_Kuznetsov would be of greater value. By value I mean, the benefit of having only $20 million in resources sitting on the ocean floor rather than a $20 Billion carrier group.

They tried to put too many brand new systems and platforms into this ship. The result is teething troubles that go on year after year. Chief among them is the EMALS system.
