WASHINGTON (AP) — Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell suffered a concussion after a fall at a local hotel and remains hospitalized “for a few days of observation and treatment,” a spokesman said Thursday.
The Kentucky senator, 81, was at a Wednesday evening dinner for the Senate Leadership Fund, a campaign committee aligned with him, when he tripped and was admitted to the hospital, his office said. The dinner was at the Waldorf Astoria Washington DC, formerly the Trump International Hotel, Washington D.C.
Spokesman David Popp said McConnell is being treated for a concussion and “is grateful to the medical professionals for their care and to his colleagues for their warm wishes.”
In 2019, the GOP leader tripped and fell at his home in Kentucky, suffering a shoulder fracture. At the time, he underwent surgery to repair the fracture in his shoulder. The Senate had just started a summer recess, and he worked from home for some weeks as he recovered.

LOL!!! SO TRUE!!
Good thing he’s not a horse huh Moe.
The wonder if he’ll have boot or a black eye? I say boot.
he should be in prison
the rules are the governor has to appoint someone from the same party as the seat he is filling
Send them here to me, I can take care of them properly.
Pretty sure they usually appoint someone from the same party......likely another Rino.
I hear the Chinese make som good pain pills and smuggle them across the border, something called fentinese?
Hey watch that! ;D
It is time for Mitch to retire being that men age faster than women. He’s stumbling now like Biden. I retired at 85 and now I’m pushing 90 and I go out and walk some blocks to the P.O. for my mail. I live alone. On nice days I walk out to the riverside and sit in a bench. I think I probably have the right to say, “Mitch, it’s time to give it up. You are weak kneed and you know it.
2 celebrity deaths today. One more needed for the golden Trifecta.
Mitch, or Fetterman?
Well, God Bless you! I am 67 and learning that I got to start lifting weights because I am losing my balance. I work PT and sit 5 hours a day. And of course I am hearing Sitting is the new smoking. I should blame it on my dog. He died at 20 Years old in 2021. We walked 3 times a day. I was in great shape. Once the winter came and he wasn’t here I stopped walking. BIG MISTAKE!.
Exactly! Pre-leadership Mitch wasn’t a pretty face with good hair like Frost and Lott. He walked the walk better than most allegedly on our side of a chronically broken senate and demonstrated he knew how to leverage whatever little power he possessed when he wished. Alas, post-promotion, he ‘evolved’ to wishing less often. He’s thus a cautionary tale.
Told you good folks out there in America land that God and his son Jesus Christ are all powerful in trying to save our once great country.....the USA!!! Watching Fake POTUS, Joe Biden tumble. time after time and Republican, Mitch McConnell trip and fall is the word and action, from our Lord & Jesus Christ, for these two failures to leave their public office!!! Sadly the American people just stand by and let these America haters destroy our country day after day as they, the citizens of the USA, do nothing!!! Go figure!!!
Good Bless You both! (Sounds like he has, so far...)
My ‘rule’ is that I bundle up and walk every morning if it’s above freezing. My Beagle loves the routine and always scares up a rabbit or two on our walks.
If you do nothing else, walking is so important for so many health reasons.
In your mid-60’s isn’t too late to get another dog. (I’m 62) I adopted two elderly Lady Basset Hounds a few years back. They were already 11 and 12 years old, but they had some of the best years of their lives on our farm, no doubt. They were City Dogs and had never been off-leash.
At least we’re all still off-leash, LOL!
Maybe he had a stroke which caused him to fall hitting his head. There might be More to this than we are being told.
KY legislation prevents him from appointing a full throated honest lib, or a re-registered recently lib as a replacement, which leaves it better than some states. But note the three choices come from the state party’s Executive Committee. In most states that’s a bunch of RNC level RINOs who’ll annoint one of their own and then push them as an ‘incumbent’ in the next primary season. However a few states have shown their Exec Committees can be taken over by the grassroots. In a state election year perhaps the KY grassroots will try that.
All my dog’s are off Leash and I lived in the Big City Chicago, and now I am in Springfield, Illinois.
Why? That’s how I grew up. My dad was the supreme ALPHA, infact he raised a bunch of ALPHAS! Sarcasm was our communication of coice. It was survival of the fittest. ( That’s why I adore TRUMP)
But, going back to the dog story, My expectation is for my dog to listen to me, yeah, once in awhile they act up, but for the most part they know who the boss is! And we spoil them to death, so they are happy to listen. Except Sammie who lived to be 20. He had schnauzer in him and I learned 1 thing, SCHNAUZERS are ALWAYS the BOSS!!
Obviously Trump’s fault! (/s)- Mitch needs to be put on a respirator just to be sure that he gets all the treatment that he deserves.
BINGO!
