Russian Duma calls on businesses to install air defense systems independently

The Head of Russia’s State Duma Defense Committee, Andrei Kartapolov, has advised Russian businesses to install air defense systems at their own expense, The Moscow Times reported on March 4.

"There are fairly inexpensive means of combating unmanned aerial vehicles that every self-respecting corporation can purchase and install at its facilities," he explained.

The lawmaker noted that the locations of Russian air defense systems are known to NATO and Ukraine. The Kremlin primarily protects state facilities

"That is, they know roughly where our air defense facilities are located, and it is quite possible to launch a drone along the route so that it goes not only around the terrain, but also bypasses these air defense areas," Kartapolov said.

On Jan. 19, Russian media published photos and videos of air defense installations placed on rooftops and vacant lots in Moscow.

An air defense system was also spotted in Moscow near Russian dictator Vladimir Putin's residence in Novo-Ogaryovo.

According to media reports, Pantsir-S1 air defense systems have been spotted on buildings in the center of Moscow, likely to protect Putin and his family.

This is further evidence Russia is quickly running out of funds for its special operation.

The Russian government has notified businesses in Russia that they are on their own to protect themselves from external attack.

Deputy Kartapolov justified his advice by saying, “The Ukrainian Armed Forces and NATO have an approximate knowledge of the location of Russian air defense systems, which makes it possible to launch a drone along a route that avoids areas where air defense systems are concentrated. There are fairly inexpensive means of combating unmanned aerial vehicles that every self-respecting corporation can purchase and install on its facilities. Russian companies need to purchase these air defense systems to defend themselves from Ukrainian drones as the Russian Defense Ministry is focused on protecting important state and military facilities.”

In other words, we’re too busy trying to protect our own skins to be able or willing to protect yours. Sorry.

Kartapolov went on to say, “There will always be a loophole through which an attack drone can enter the country. That is why independent purchases of air defense by businesses will contribute to overall security and leave us to protect oil depots, gas distribution stations, power plants, bridges, overpasses, and factories”

Nonsense. They must know what they really need is “common sense SAM control”.

So Russia is calling for essentially capitalist/libertarian defense.

The irony is rich.

What could possibly go wrong?

Shooting down Russian passenger planes?

Accidentally bombarding near by businesses and neighborhoods?

Considering what our warmongering Uniparty Congress is doing, they should be insisting all individuals, out of the blast range of the Russian/Chicom nuke targets, build fallout shelters.

Drones are changing the nature of warfare.

I would love to see some consideration of requiring nuclear protection in some construction, and with some sort of incentive given for adding it to housing.

Even talking about building for a survivable nuclear war is the height of insanity. This is the stupid, empty headedness that nearly destroyed civilization in the early sixties. The Cuban Missile Crisis shocked the entire world back to the realization that there can be no winners, no survivors in a total exchange. To even speak of “winning” a nuclear war became the stuff of comedy until last year.

Does the 2nd Amendment cover personal air defense systems?

That was an idiotic, uninformed post that indicates a submissive attitude and a desire to keep America completely unprepared for modern war, something the left has worked hard at and succeeded in doing, the left has stripped us of our civil defense systems in the opinion that Americans don’t deserve to survive a nuclear war and the money should be spent on destructive social policies.

Nuclear weapons are real, and they aren’t going away, we can do everything in our power to try and stop other countries from using them, but at the same time we can maintain as strong a defense against their nuclear weapons as possible.

The left thinks the more vulnerable the evil Americans are, the better.

Not a bad idea if the technology exists for civilian use

Since the Ukes are using drones to target civilian facilities, if there is an electronic screen that businesses can use to protect themselves by jamming drones …why not

PS reading is hard. This specifically cites unmanned UAVs

And the folks around here think AR15s are dangerous in civilian hands. Wait until they see the antiaircraft guns on our roofs. Lol.
