While vapid, childless celebrities like Chelsea Handler disseminate weird propaganda through corporate media to reassure themselves and their peers that their lack of reproduction is somehow an enlightened act of self-fulfillment, objective reality says otherwise.
It turns out, researchers have quantified the proportion of childless women whose status was intentional, and the number is extremely low.
...
Who are the childless and how many of them wanted children? The closest we can come is a 2010 meta-analysis by the Dutch academic Prof Renske Keiser, which suggested that only 10% of childless women actively chose not to become mothers. That leaves 90% of women [who wanted children]. Only 9% of that 90% are childless for known medical reasons.
That 10% figure may even be a stretch. Feminist dogma — which childless women disproportionately subscribe to — prohibits the expression of aspiration for motherhood, as it indicates submission to the Patriarchy™ or whatever. So it’s possible that they are too ashamed or repressed to consciously admit to wanting children — perhaps even to themselves.
Is Chelsea Handler one of that rare 10% of childless women who genuinely did not ever want to have kids? It’s impossible to say for sure, and her ideological commitment to third-wave feminism would prevent her from admitting it were that the case. But perhaps we can let the sadness in her eyes, hidden under all that makeup and pearly-white smile, answer the question.

They know about biological time clocks. With all the Bill Clintons out there why bother thinking about it. Too much fun to ben had.
and they all lie about how often they have sex and how many partners!
I watch those trashy American dating shows sometimes, and those people LIE through their teeth about how long its been since they have had sex. These people are hooking up with a different person nearly every day and then claiming they haven’t dated in over a year or whatever.
Walking petri dishes
They can reproduce by converting the children of regular people to their lifestyles. It's been working exceptionally well lately.
1 in 10 couples cannot reproduce. I know several. Sometimes the pain of being childless and not able to do anything about it is heart-rending and it’s very sad to witness.
The extremely few I know who didn’t want children never changed their mind. Though some of them enjoy spending time with other people’s kids.
I think a reasonable follow up question would be; of that 90%, how many have had one or more abortions?
The percentage of women who had kids and regret it would probably be “shocking” too.
Asking a woman who was on able to have children for whatever reason, but dearly wanted children all alone is like sticking a knife in her guts.
But it never fails during social interactions and chit chat “oh how many children do you have?” and it tears my heart when I hear that.
I have plenty of children I have plenty of grandkids and great grandkids and TBH, people need to be mindful that there are a lot of women who cannot have children, want them so much, but are unable to adopt for whatever reason.
And it’s sickening to see who is eligible to adopt children who otherwise would never be able to procreate as a couple...
Regrets... they’ve had a few.....
It's a biological imperative and it's hard to deny it.
They are mostly women who were told for put their career first before marriage and kids. So the follow that advice, by the time their career is in a good place, they are in their early 30’s, by the time they find a husband in their mid-thirties, and they are told they should “enjoy a couple years of just the two of you”. So by the time they are ready to have kids, they are in their late 30s, and their chance of conceiving is reduced by more than 50%.
Astorge. This is what civilization looks like without it…. And we are just getting started. Headed for the darkest of dark ages… unless of course we are nuked from orbit.
Rat World, Rat consequences
And people who think "just adopt kids" it is not that easy.
They reference children in foster care and do not realize that 99% of them are not up for adoption. We went the foster route and it has taken us a long while to get our kids.
During that time your heart will be broken again and again as children you have cared for are sent back into horrible situations and there is nothing you can do about it. Or the social worker decided they have "become too attached" and so they need to be sent some where else.
Let's not even go into the "gender affirming" craziness that you need to sign on to before they will let you foster from the state.
Schools have been peddling careers and “you can have it all” and “you go girl”. Too late the students figure out a career is just a job and can’t have it all.
There was a recent survey that showed parents put greater priority on their kids having a good economic future than having grandkids. There are a lot fewer baby doll options for girls in the toy store.
The Apostle Paul was very specific about the importance of women having children if they decided to marry. Just something else, we will all have to answer for.
How wise you are.
Plus the clinical literature has been clear for decades that such women have all the bonding capability of Teflon, even if they do find a husband.
Children experience the full basking warmth of the parental-child relationship, until they grow up and realize it’s a two-way street.
Aberrant situations notwithstanding.
No one I know. I regret stopping at two.
Its not a sin against God not to want to have children. Everyone isn’t necessarily cut out for it. It doesn’t make you a bad person.
