New Yorkers living in the suburbs outside of New York City say Gov. Kathy Hochul’s (D) zoning plan to override local laws would effectively demolish their communities, forcing them to accept hundreds of thousands of new housing units.
After failing to impose the plan last year, Hochul is once again attempting to strip the state’s suburban communities of their zoning autonomy with a plan that would force suburbs to build a percentage of new housing and if they do not comply, the state will take control of their local land use laws.

Get out NOW!
While you still can.
thats the plan..people need to brush up on Agenda 30 since they are in the process of implementing Agenda 21.
Elections have consequences.
They want to do this.
As opposed to Nacho communities anymore.
There were MORE THAN ENOUGH Republicans in NY to DEFEAT Horchul last year, but enough of them found a reason to NOT vote Republican in that election, so now they can kiss-goodbye their neighborhoods, and all the money they invested there.
So THEY DESERVE IT, as far as I’m concerned - they had the power to PREVENT that bitch from staying in office, they chose not to, instead they chose to ‘Send a Message’. Obvious question: Did the Democrats in Albany get their ‘message’? Did the (now toothless) Republican in Albany get their ‘message’? You decide.
THAT’S THE PLAN!!
That’s the plan. The far left hates the suburbs because there is less crime, they are nicer than the cities, and people are generally hard working and successful.
They want to expand their decayed cities so as to make the suburbs poor, ugly, crime-ridden, unproductive s-holes like they have made the cities.
Then there will be nowhere left to go to escape the rotting pathology that is progressivism.
The puppet masters (Obama and Susan Rice) think that bringing the ghetto to the suburbs will uplift the quality of life for the urban blacks. Instead it will bring down the quality of life for everyone living in the burbs.
It’s like moving the Hutu and Tutsi to the Hamptons.
How long will the Clintons want to live in Chappaqua when Harlem is built across the street?
Doing this everywhere. Single-family homes in Suburbs quickly being replaced by hundreds of multi-family Section 8 units.

Hummmm, I remember this from the obunghole days.
New York had a choice but they chose Kathy Hochul. I wonder how many Republicans and Independents stayed home.
The only way to get rid of a high level democrat in NY is to have an even scummier democrat stab them in the back. They do not get beaten in elections anymore.
never ever trust a rat....they will shaft all of us at their whim.
But that's exactly what she wants to do!
Problem for Hochul is she hasn’t looked at a map of Long Island. She wants to build these units within a mile of each LIRR station. Most of these areas are totally filled with one family homes, businesses, schools, churches, factories. She wants 50 units to an acre. An acre would fit 14 60/100 one family plots. And those acres are already filled. Now unless Hochul is going to invoke eminent domain and take these occupied properties this isn’t going to happen.
“Progressives” cannot improve conditions for their constituents so they lower living standards of neighborhoods for equity of course.
Enjoy the decline.
