Large corporations are firing diversity staff at higher rates than other corporate roles as firms continue to layoff employees.
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) employees are leaving companies at a higher rate than non-DEI employees, based on a study from workforce data company Reveliolabs. The 12-month rate of attrition for DEI employees was 33% in December 2022, compared to 21% for non-DEI roles. Since July 2022, over 300 DEI professionals have left companies such as Target, Capital One, Amazon, Wells Fargo, Twitter, Nike and Intel as part of corporate layoffs. Target, Capital One and Amazon let go of between 15 and 20 DEI professionals each. Listings for DEI roles in the tech industry dropped 19% in 2022, Bloomberg reported.
“When economic conditions become uncertain, companies pare back their spending to the essentials,” said Andrew Crapuchettes, CEO of RedBalloon, a networking firm. “While well intentioned, most DEI programs are simply virtue signaling, often at the expense of healthy company culture. The c-suites understand this, and in choppy economic waters, DEI is likely slated to be among the first to go.”
U.S. corporations spent $9.3 billion on DEI initiatives in 2022 and projections estimate DEI spending will grow to $15.4 billion by 2026, according to consulting firm StrategyR.
Still too low.
Getting rid of 110% of the DEI and AA would be better for the nation.
Getting rid of the parasites and those who are actually counterproductive instead of being productive. They are likely barely touching the surface of these types.
The first thing to go should be the dead weight
Grow it overboard. Live and learn for a change
Do these employees enhance shareholder value?
I think we all know the answer.
Now if only universities and colleges could dump their DEI operatives—starting with that grossly unqualified new president of Harvard!!!!
Then students will be compelled to LEARN SOMETHING USEFUL!!! And the DEI folks could go back to school to do the same!!
Ans many of these same students will REJOICE to have the yoke of DEI off their backs!!!!
Why? Because everybody hates them and fears that they will be used against them.
The people they recommend hiring are also sub-par.
Biden will hire them with his new DEI/DIE EO.
+1000!
What exactly is a DEI professional?
Good God. Just imagine if that money were put in useful, productive investments with a decent ROI.
Instead, it creates division, resentment and open racial conflict. Tell me where it does NOT do that.
I had to sit through lots of managerial seminars on sexual harassment at the beginning of the 1990s and I thought THAT was a waste of time. These HR "leaders" are always coming up with new ways to waste company money and employee time.
True - but let’s also force these elite universities to give preference to American citizens and tell the “globalist meritocracy” BS to end as well.
In Snowflake and Zero G lingo does “dumping” mean they’re hiring is up?
DIE will only exist in governments or businesses that will be required to have a DIE department if they do business with the government.
Dumping them?
Dump them in a volcano ...
Diversity, equity, and inclusion. Anti white trainings disguised as social justice.
I said a couple of years ago that when the lay-offs started, companies were going to have to make the decision whether to keep the useless overpaid D.I.E. hires, or the workers who actually produce for their company. It appears they have made their decision.
Well, there’s always grocery checker jobs like in the other thread. Those that haven’t been automated with self-check, anyway.
“I had to sit through lots of managerial seminars on sexual harassment at the beginning of the 1990s”
I refused to go to a single sexual harassment or woke (before the word woke was a thing) seminar, workshop, or retreat of any kind. Just didn’t show up. They needed me and I didn’t get fired.
