Shocking video shows how drug addicts in Portland are emptying whole pallets of water bought with food stamps just to recycle the plastic bottles for $2.40 to buy cheap fentanyl

Drug addicts in Oregon have come up with a scheme that sees them using their food stamps to buy cases of water which they then immediately empty out in order to obtain a 0.10 cents bottle deposit to then buy drugs with.

Video footage shot in a parking lot on Portland sees one group of people with shopping carts full of pallets of bottled water, only to have them empty the contents out on the ground.

The alleged addicts will then return to the supermarket from where they acquired the bottled water to obtain a recycling refund.

If they were clean they could probably sell bottles of water for 25 cents, 50 cents or every $1.

But hey, 10 cents.......🙄🙄🙄

Years ago I was doing field work in Washington D.C.

I had plenty of water to drink, but it was sure nice to buy one at the stop light from the guy that had them sitting in a cooler filled with ice. I think it was $1 and was well worth it. My cheap cooler didn’t last long when it was 100+ degrees every day.

Simple solution. Delete food stamps accounts for anyone caught wasting services.

Like that will ever happen in this forked up country.😂 Politicians might lose votes.

Gotta admit they’re innovative. Tell ‘em there’s free fentanyl for life in it if they invent cold fusion and you’ll have it in a month!

They do it here in Michigan too? At has station stores.
Buy a 24 pack of soda in cans with 10 cent deposit each, pour then out on the ground on the parking lot and return the empties for $2.40 to buy half pints of the cheapest vodka.

Doesn’t make any sense to do that? If they had enough to buy a 24 pack of soda, they had more than enough to buy the vodka.

When our oldest daughter lived in a very nice part of Vancouver, BC, she couldn’t leave ANY coins visible in her car. The druggies would do thousands of dollars damage to get those few coins. This was 15 years ago.

They buy the soda with EBT, can’t buy the vodka with EBT.

They didn't use their money, they used your money in the form of taxpayer funded EBT/SNAP cards.

Better that EBT cover vodka and fentanyl. ODs would take care of most of the problem...
