Get the Chinese loving Chief of Staff General Milley under oath and ask him some pointed questions. If the Chinese did float balloons into American airspace prior to this and they were detected, then why wasn’t the duly elected civilian government informed?

Another story says that Mattis knew about these balloons but didn’t tell Trump.

I don’t think Mattis is lying. As a Marine, he would not lie about something like this. JMHO.

4. I’d say Mattis is lying.............
Mattis did call China following the 2020 election to re-assure the commies he would not let his CinC do anything “rash”.
