MONTGOMERY, Ala. – A recent poll of Alabama Republican Primary voters shows Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis leading former President Donald Trump by almost 20 points in a hypothetical matchup for the GOP presidential nomination in 2024.
A full 50% of those surveyed said they would either definitely or probably vote for DeSantis, while just 31% said they would definitely or probably vote for Trump. Among those who remain undecided, 3% lean toward DeSantis, 4% lean toward Trump and 9% are firmly unsure.

Not odd at all, he has done a very good job in Florida. But Florida was always only the stepping stone to the top rung of his climb up the political ladder. If he runs, then he deceived his voters who voted for him to continue doing great things in Florida, which he will not be able to do if he is elected as the Republican presidential candidate.
Why shouldn't he?
DeSantis supporters attack Trump. DeSantis continues to not rule out running. So Trump responds.
Seems appropriate.
Deal with it.
“He’s just another lifer politician insider who’s never held a private sector career”
You are aware that Governor DeSantis served as an officer in the US Navy for over 15 years right?
Which makes your “lifer politician insider” statement inaccurate to say the least.
“If he runs, then he deceived his voters who voted for him to continue doing great things in Florida, which he will not be able to do if he is elected as the Republican presidential candidate.”
So you’re saying that DeSantis is not trustworthy if he doesn’t serve his entire term as governor? You’re not saying he’s incapable, you acknowledge he has done good work in Florida. Moving up to the presidency, where he can help even more Americans and do bigger things is the problem for you?
Ok.
“If he runs, then he deceived his voters who voted for him....”
I don’t know of anyone that feels that way......I sure don’t.
Too far out from actual elections to matter. Plus I’m sure between now and primaries either candidate will do or say something that everyone hates.
Does have that establishment GOP smell about it.
Really?
Why not encourage a wide field of potentials, listen to speeches and debates, read articles, and vote for whom you want in the primary; and, then, vote for the party nom in November '24?
Wow, Ron DeSantis announced his candidacy? I must have missed it!
Do you have a link?
Well, all I can say is you are wrong. All you have to do to prove it to yourself is to look at who is pushing Ron DeSantis. Jeb & W. Bush, Karl Rove come to mind, but I have seen others, just can’t remember them off the top of my head.
Probaby because Trump has pretty much become an ass. Sad, but true.
Because it’s looking like Trump is feeling threatened by the Desantis
So, you are like the Uniparty RINO folks, who cherry-picks statements, while ignoring the total message presented.
Starting to think the Fake Media don’t like Trump.
DeSantis was a lawyer in the military.☺ The man has never held a career outside government.
It looks like that to some not very self aware DeSantis supporters.
Actually this latest round began yesterday when DeSantis supporters criticized Trump for his association with Graham.
It's as I said.
DeSantis supporters attack Trump. DeSantis continues to not rule out running. So Trump responds.
Seems appropriate.
“Octogenarian Group” How nice!! Aren’t you supposed to be in School?
The Only Trumpers on this thread seem intolerant, non objective, irrational and cult like. They don’t want to even consider being open to all ideas. It is emotion over reason.
Supporting Trump is fine, but anyone who dare criticize Trump is labeled, cancelled and insulted. Critcizing Trump does not make one a Never Trumper, but a way to keep eyes open.
Bwahahaha
Yea and Hillary was going to win GA by 10.
If you are gonna tell a lie, you have to make it at least somewhat believable…
This one doesn’t pass the most rudimentary smell test.
““Octogenarian Group” How nice!! Aren’t you supposed to be in School?”
Thank you. Not all octogenerians are like Biden.
