DirecTV announced Thursday that it has filled the slot of Newsmax with conservative outlet the First.
The contract is "multiyear," according to the television provider, with the First's programs featured on a free channel to DirecTV customers. Previously, the First was only available via streaming on Paramount Pluto TV, starting in 2019.
The First features the likes of Dana Loesch and Bill O'Reilly as primary hosts, as well as podcaster Liz Wheeler and Marine veteran Jesse Kelly. O'Reilly is the only host with renowned television broadcast experience prior to the First. He worked for Fox News for 20 years before he was fired over sexual assault allegations in 2017. Following his ousting, O'Reilly was in talks with Newsmax for a time slot of his own but kept his show No Spin News on his own website before bringing it to the First.

According to their website Dish still carries Newsmax.
O’Reilly is not a conservative by any stretch.
Maybe, just maybe Newsmax had the contract end at this very critical time?
And Tucker too.
Bill o ain’t no conservative
Glad you’re fond of him
Not my cup of tea
another UniParty shill....
Let’s put it this way. Newsmax pays what AT&T wants to be paid for clearing the network, and it’s on the air. BTW, you can get Newsmax for free on Roku & Pluto.
Absurd.
Chis Wray approves.
Moloch does the jig.
Not good enough. O’Reilly is weak in many areas of interest to MAGA conservatives.
Replacing a 2% marketshare network, with a 1% marketshare network seems odd.
Can’t and won’t listen to Bill Oreilly. Can’t stand him!
I said in another forum that Directv’s decision to drop Newsmax had more to do with money than politics.
Channels get dropped all the time from Directv and Dish Network, the reason comes down to who pays the other side and how much.
For example, ESPN even though they have lost a ton of subscribers still gets paid money for every subscriber that broadcast over a cable/satellite carrier.
Other less known networks get paid nothing but have to pay Directv to get broadcast.
Newsmax had a growing audience and wanted to get paid by Directv, Directv said no and dropped them, The Bill O’Reilly network is probably paying Directv to get broadcast.
$$$
DirecTV is bleeding subscribers
Newsmax wanted to increase their rates, a cost DirecTV would have to pass on
First is cheap
“Newsmax pays what AT&T wants to be paid for clearing the network, and it’s on the air. “
AT&T doesn’t want Newsmax to pay them anything. NewsMax wants AT&T to pay them a carriage fee that will get passed along to AT&T customers. AT&T thinks Newsmax is asking for more than they are worth. This is just a carriage fee issue that happens all the time between channel owners and cable/satellite companies. Newsmax are playing up the political angle to gain leverage in the negotiations.
What’s BOR doing on a “conservative” outlet?
O’Really is not a Conservative in the true sense of the word. People should cancel Direct and get Dish.
You don’t like Sean’s 5 minute questions that include dishwashing and sheetrock only to give the guest a half a sentence so he can give another 5 min question?
Hannity is tiresome.....................
How convenient so close to the 2024 race. Newsmax were the only ones to carry trumps rallies and speeches so you know somethings sinister is going on. Let me put it to you all this way. The fix is in …Trump or any other Republican will never be elected to a higher office. They have manipulated, fixed the cheating game etc…they have been empowered and emboldened to steal the lollipop from the child. They have become bullies with enormous power, and they are unstoppable. All because our spineless POS Republicans at the hill never did anything to stop or help their base. On the contrary, the backstabbing traitor POS killed whatever was left of their base.
There’s a reason O’rielly should be heard. He was the highest paid anchor in his time and the number one non fiction best seller.
He actually does investigation!
Lots of stupid bias about him here.
