I am watching this video, and I have to wonder if it might be gang related.
Happened here where I live. Lady was smart enough to actually drive to the nearest police station...
REAL cops caught the suspect the next day.
“Well they guessed wrong and beat a man to death over a traffic ticket.”
Yes, absolutely. I often wonder what makes cops think they can get away with things like this. At least now when they’re wearing the cameras themselves.
Not sure if that was the criminal’s plan but that’s what’s going to happen unless a jury is allowed to rule based on the facts of the case. Unlikely, in today’s “America”.
Far worse than George Floyd; no cop beat Floyd, they merely restrained him “wrong”. These Memphis cops beat, punched, kicked, 5-on-1 then the bald cop got his ASP baton and beat him some more while others held him down. Absolutely gratuitous, egregious, over the top and not in response to anything Nichols was doing because he was only barely conscious. Many more cops show up, flap their jaws. EMTs arrive and do nothing for a man in neurological distress, obvious injuries, for 20 minutes standing around - arrest the EMTs too, and the sergeants, shift commander, every damn one of these EVIL people.
This video is the no sound pole camera. The first about 6 minutes is all you need to see. Posting because most sources are overwhelmed right now.

“Time to turn my scanner app on I guess.”
Yeah, I bet it will get pretty active.
Exactly. “Fight or Flight” is human nature. But then there may be the added factor of possible drugs in the system (that will come out in court).
What I saw, thus far, was just plain brutal.
I don’t know if this played a part in the incident at hand, but I’m sure that many good, experienced cops have left because they’re sick of the demonization and lack of support; and jurisdictions have had to rush to replace them.
Thats cold-blooded. Be different if it happened to one of your family members, I bet
“Thank You Memphis, for living down to every awful stereotype you’ve picked up in recent years.”
There was a time when Memphis wasn’t too bad. But, that was around forty years ago.
I agree completely. Poor kid. I can't even imagine what his family is going. through.
You’re okay with what happened?
Happens a lot in Memphis. The fall back plan is a police report stating your behavior is indicative of psychological problems and “bingo!” Social Security disability. Get arrested once a year for barking at shoppers in the Kroger produce section. Crazy checks approved.
That type camera is sometimes referred to as a “pole cop”. Best I could gather they are put up by a “community and city” cooperative effort. One of the local black community leaders was saying he may have been the guy who installed it a few years(?) ago as part of a crime deterrence program.
In the 1949 movie Battleground there is a scene where one of our guys buys it and as he’s dying he’s calling out, “momma, momma...”
This guy has a pretty good stream.
Things are popping in NYC. Looks like police cars getting attacked.

I said in my post they weren’t doing traffic
I said in my post it was an anti crime squad
He tried to diffuse the situation… and they kept escalating the situation .
Sorry… I hope they rot in jail.
And people wonder why black people don’t trust the police.
If I was black, I wouldn’t trust the police.
And if it were anyone kid HERE , you wouldn’t trust the police.
He was a really good guy by all accounts.
Most times cops have you on the ground so you can’t even move your arm to get it behind your back, yet that is ‘resisting’
He was right down the street from where he “stay at” when this occurred and is why he was calling for his mom.
Heartbreaking either way.
“Rodney King video was far worse.”
The Rodney King video that the world saw a thousand times was edited. The parts where he was fighting back was taken out.
The jury saw the original video and that is why the cops were initially exonerated.
It was all a hoax.
