Just part of the biden/obama/deepstate destruction of the US. States will have to take a stand and tell the fed government to stuff it.

“What’s Behind California’s Skyrocketing Natural Gas Bills”

Once upon a time, Democrats were elected/installed to office.

The End.

..... Yup ... We paid about $95 bucks last year ...... Now we are just below $300 .... No additional usage .... Probably our mostly conservative zip code that made the difference .....

Four Colorado electric cooperatives that buy wholesale power from Xcel Energy have filed a complaint with federal regulators contending the state’s largest electricity provider mismanaged its natural gas supplies .. Xcel directed its own natural gas supply to meet reserve requirements rather than generate power ..

The four cooperatives collectively provide electricity to 570,000 people in predominantly rural parts of the state, such as Mesa, Garfield and Moffat counties..

Xcel is very deceptive .. partial control - not total..

“To worsen matters, national supplies began flowing to Europe during the Ukraine conflict”

We can thank the Neocons for taking out the gas pipeline from Russia to Europe - so now we’re trying to replace that gas with LNG.

But since it is Californians (and people in New England too) paying a price for putting the Neocons back in power, I do finally see some good in our Ukraine policy.

My opinion is they’re intentionally creating policies to raise fossil fuel prices to make wind and solar costs look more favorable.

Lastly, the growing electric power sectors nationwide also consume natural gas, the company reported.

My son lives there. He loves it to. He went to college in Tx. and found a girl and got married. He was born and raised in So Cal surfing, dirtbiking, etc. Doesn’t do any of that now. Just farming on his 25 acres. Got his engineering degree and working for a huge tractor corp.

Southern California Gas Company (SoCalGas), which serves about 5.9 million households and businesses, warned customers to expect “shockingly high” January bills that could be 128 percent higher compared to December.

Those who typically paid around $65 a month last winter are likely to pay about $160 this year, SoCalGas said in a statement Dec. 29. Those with bills around $130 a month could see charges jump to $315.

$160/$65 is 146% higher. $315/$130 is 142% higher.
How do they come up with 128%?
