The White House on Friday called for the debt limit to be raised without conditions, laying down a marker ahead of what is likely to be a bruising fight with House Republicans in the coming months.
“We believe, when it comes to the debt limit, it has been done in a bipartisan way over the years and decades. And it should be done in a bipartisan way. And it should be done without conditions. That is important here,” press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said.
Jean-Pierre’s comments came shortly after Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen wrote to Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) to warn the U.S. is projected to reach its roughly $31.4 trillion borrowing limit in less than a week, and the department would have to soon begin taking “extraordinary measures” to buy time for Congress to avoid default.
Those measures would likely buy lawmakers until early June to reach a deal, Yellen said.

Did she say it, or did she read it out loud? In all my years I can't recall seeing a press secretary who seems to have absolutely no understanding of the issues and has to constantly refer to her tabbed notebook to look up answers to anticipated questions and topics.
Time for McCarthy is say, “NO! Absolutely not” and show off his cojones.
My suggestion is to stop ALL foreign aid, particularly to zelensky and all countries that hate us. Give them a reason to hate us. Stop the foreign aid for a period of 2 years and then reevaluate.

After the recent rollout/testing of the CBDC (Central Bank Digital Currency), and the fact that the Saudi’s are distancing themselves from the U.S. petro dollar, and are accepting other currencies as payment, the assclowns in Washington (by design) know the end is near for the greenback, and they no longer feel they need to hide it from anyone concerned/intersted enough to pay attention.

I didn’t miss it, I just don’t care about the Federal Debt that much. Especially with boomers retiring and getting Social Security and Medicare.
No Congress in my lifetime has cared about it. If Trump would’ve put a balanced budget out there it would’ve be DOA.
Why should any private sector civilian care about it more than the politicians and bureaucracies that enable it?
