ONLY GOD GIVES PEACE

The Lord will give [unyielding and impenetrable] strength to His people; the Lord will bless His people with peace. Psalm 29:11

One of the greatest ways God speaks to us and leads us is through the inner witness. In other words, we just know inside what is right or wrong. It is a deeper level of knowing than "head knowledge". This type of knowing is in the spirit...we simply have peace or a lack of peace. By the presence or absence of peace, we know what we should do.

I once spoke with a woman who needed to make a serious decision. Her family and friends were giving her advice, but she needed to know within herself what the right answer was because she was the one who would have to live with it. She had been in a certain business all of her life and was feeling that she wanted to get out of it and stay home with her children. Of course, this would require drastic financial adjustments and personal changes for her, things that could even affect her emotionally. She needed to know from God, not from other people, what the right decision was.

The woman went to a retreat with a relative. During the course of that weekend, as she praised and worshipped God and listened to the speaker, a knowing and a peace came into her heart that she was indeed right about closing the business. She said a moment just came when she knew what was right. She has had peace about her decision ever since.

It is amazing how well-meaning people can tell us things, yet they really don't affect us. But when God speaks to us about a matter, it has a great impact on us. Ask God for the inner witness that only He can give.

Keep the Lord’s Day in the Lord’s way.

A blessed Epiphany Sunday or Baptism of Our Lord (Western)/Sunday after the Theophany aka Epiphany (Orthodox) to all!

Howdy, luvie.

Did you enjoy more comfy temps today?
It was dreary, wet, and right chilly here. More rain is supposed to roll through tonight.

Yes, a bit on the nippy side but it’s what our temps should be this time of year. Doesn’t mean I have to like it though. LOL

I hope you don’t catch a cold after being out today without a coat. It was way too cold for a sweatshirt. Have you put a coat in the car since you got home so it’ll be handy the next time you have to go out?
Put some really warm water in the tub, or in a large pot, to put your feet in for a few minutes. That’ll warm your feet up as well as the rest of you in no time. Works like a charm.

Hey there, radu!

Great that you’re getting some rain...but it makes the chill feel even more so.

It was cooler than yesterday by about 15 degrees, but not awful in the mid-60s. Dry as a bone, of course. Bah!

Yep, the rain is a good thing and it was a soaking rain rather than the heavy stuff we had earlier in the week. It’s helping the winter wheat, which has sprung back to life after the arctic blast zapped it. I was afraid it had gotten cold enough to hit the roots but apparently not. I know Dusty and the other farmers who planted wheat in the fall are thrilled.

This rain is with a warm front moving through overnight and we should be in the mid 50s tomorrow. Not too bad.

How awesome that the beautiful green winter wheat is coming back to life. I know how you were missing it’s color in the drab of winter.

Hope a more moderate temperature will last a while for you. It’s supposed to get down to the mid-30s here tonight, so I’m wearing cords and a fairly heavy sweater to church tomorrow instead of a dress. I know...big deal. LOL!

I was tickled to death when I realized I really was seeing some green in the fields earlier this week. It’s coming back fast too. I was feeling so bad for all the farmers around here after the crummy year they just had. Knowing they’ll have a wheat crop AND seeing that beautiful green through the windows has lifted my mood a lot.

We’ll have 50s and a couple of low 60s through next Thursday, then back into the 40s again. Not bad at all for January, though you know I’d prefer your 60s and 70s. LOL

You’ll be colder tonight than we will but we’ve had a few nights in the 30s this week. I’d wear cords and a heavy sweater to church tomorrow morning too.

Enjoy that green! I’ve seen it in farms east of here, and it really does lift the spirit.

I’m going to finish this show and then head out. With any luck, I’ll get some sleep before having to wake up early. Maybe my poor phone will even survive the alarm going off. LOL! See ya tomorrow!

Oooooooh, I am enjoying that green. LOL When I look out the windows and when I pass fields when out and about. It really stands out amongst the winter drabness.

Get some sleep. You can do it! Be nice to that alarm in the morning. :-)

Howdy, E.G.C. ((HUGZ))

Was it crowded at the lake again yesterday or did you and Gizmo have it to yourselves?

Believe it of not we didn't pretty have anyone at the lake yesterday. It was pretty much just me and Gizmo. There were a few people camping out there of course but on the lake it was just me and Gizmo.

BTW. I should point out that the City of Comanche did put in new bathrooms at the lake recently. That is what you're seeing in the bathroom shots. This looks much better than the old worn out bathrooms.

Today is JKFC Pick Up Day. We plan on doing the lake again later today.

Glad you two had the lake to yourselves. Keeps Gizmo out of trouble. :-)
It looks like he had a grand time out there.
Enjoy your KFC supper.

A day late, but a Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours. Looks like Gizmo really enjoyed himself.

It is always nice when parks update old facilities. Good for them.
