Right-wing anti-vaxxers pushed a debunked conspiracy blaming COVID shots after NFL player Damar Hamlin collapsed on the field on Monday.
Hamlin, a 24-year-old safety for the Buffalo Bills, suffered a cardiac arrest and collapsed on the field after a scary hit to his chest during the Monday Night Football matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals. Players surrounded Hamlin as he received CPR for about nine minutes before being taken off the field in an ambulance. The game was postponed and Hamlin was taken to a local hospital.
"Damar Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest following a hit in the Buffalo Bills' game versus the Cincinnati Bengals. His heartbeat was restored on the field and he was transferred to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center for further testing and treatment. He is currently sedated and listed in critical condition," the Bills said in a statement early Tuesday.
The scary moment led to an outpouring of support and prayers for the young second-year player and an online toy drive fundraiser launched by Hamlin quickly raised more than $3 million in donations in the hours after his collapse. But some right-wing anti-vaccine conspiracy theorists used the incident to stoke a widely debunked claim that the COVID vaccine is causing young, healthy athletes to suddenly collapse.

I think I got covid in November 2019 and after 59 years of getting the flu and yearly colds, I have been invincible. For three years plus I haven't been sick and, God-willing, I feel like I will never be sick again. As soon as I recovered from covid in 2019, I felt better than I ever had and for the first time in my life, I felt immortal. I've been riding the highlander wave for three years and I'm hoping to continue into my 90s.
When I first found out about covid in 2020, I truly believed it was a biowepon and I haven't wavered since. So to answer your question? Yes, the unvaccinated are purebloods and the unvaccinated covid survivors are MAGA. purebloods.

That may be; however, you also seem to be missing the point. I am not advocating for the vaccine nor against it. I was commenting on the use of the phrase Pureblood. Does it sound Aryan, or Nazi like? Absolutely. People are using that term as a badge of honor and superiority and looking down at those who did get vaccinated. So you tell me how that isn’t similar. There are already news stories of people not wanting blood transfusions. Will they next not marry a person who is vaccinated because they’re “not Pureblood”, or God forbid, ban them from drinking from the same drinking fountain? Take your Pureblood nonsense and shove it.
I see the irony. And when I feel like pointing out to those people their silliness I mention it. Because you just know they were spending 2020 mocking how all deaths were covid deaths. They don’t seem to see the irony though.
Given that I’ve seen the exact same thing happen in hockey, and know of another incident that happened to the local minor league team in 2018 or 19 I’m thinking probably the same thing. There’s a really creepy scary off switch on our body. We know about it. Doesn’t get pushed often, but it does get pushed.

No one forced me. I could care less if someone takes the jab or doesn’t take the jab. I don’t care if you wear a mask or don’t wear a mask. Freedom of choice. I think the mandates are stupid and the science is questionable. I also believe the phrase Pureblood is stupid.

Did I miss the debunking? I've seen lots of statistical analyses supporting it, but NONE refuting it.
The fact that we cannot find easily digestible information that compares the number of athlete sudden deaths in the vax era to previous eras is everything you need to know.
In the era of Big Data why is it so hard count a few athlete deaths?
It would be reasonable to expect to see a simple comparison chart broadcasted on all channels. I wonder why such information is not shared broadly?
People asking questions should not to be faulted when those that have the information are making unsupported declarations and throwing ad-hominems rather than answering the questions.
