Bryan Kohberger stalked Idaho victims before murders, wore gloves in grocery store weeks afterward: report

The criminology student accused of slaying four University of Idaho students had stalked his alleged victims before the November murders and wore gloves in a supermarket weeks afterwards, according to a new report.

Cellphone data shows that Bryan Kohberger, 28, was often in the same location as the three sorority sisters and one of their boyfriends before he allegedly slashed them to death as they apparently slept at an off campus house, a source close to one of the case’s investigators told The Daily Mail.

Kohberger also seemed to be careful about not leaving fingerprints in public even as he fled to his native state of Pennsylvania in recent days, the anonymous source told the outlet Sunday.

“He’s not stupid and has been very careful,” said the source, who claimed to be “good friends” with one of the cops who had surveilled the murder suspect in the days before his arrest.

“He followed him into a Giant [Pennsylvania grocery store chain] and wore gloves the entire time,” the source reportedly said of his investigator pal.

“Not sure if they ever interacted – but his cell phone pings followed their every move for weeks,” the source reportedly said of Kohberger’s alleged stalking.

***** SNIP *****

Kohberger had continued to serve as a teacher’s assistant at the university before driving his white Hyundai Elantra across the country in the days before Christmas with suspicious cops hot on his trail.

His father — who is not said to be a suspect — had flown to Idaho to make the 2,500 mile drive with his son after Kohberger completed his first semester of the PhD program at the university, the suspect’s lawyer said.

libertarians are killers. libertarians are just like republicans. I’m not voting for republicans either.

The Libertarian Party today stands for little more than legalizing prostitution and repealing age of consent laws.

The "Ron Paul Libertarians" became Republicans a long time ago.

“Fingerprints in a store are trash level evidence.”

Not if you show chain of custody.

“No way can you kill four people and not leave DNA.”

He left DNA at the scene.

Further down in the article, a retired detective points out:

“If somebody like this was really a student of criminal justice and criminology, then he would understand certain things like Locard’s Exchange Principle,” Prof. Joseph Giacalone, a retired NYPD detective sergeant who teaches at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, told The Daily Beast Saturday.

The principal he referred to is a forensic theory that states “every contact leaves a trace.”

“It shows you the arrogance of people like him, where he thinks he’s smarter than the cops because he read something in a book,” Giacalone reportedly said. “At the end of the day, experience trumps academics every day of the week and twice on Sunday.”

I agree, but use a pliers and blowtorch, instead of the needle. Make the torture last a l-o-n-g time.

Agree. Libertarians had some merit decades ago…. They don’t even begin to have the guts to do what needs to be done to save the nation. I went from liking them, to being indifferent to disliking them.

That’s not a reliable source.

This technique was highly classified. We used it to track “bad guys” during the “war on terror” until they got wise. Now days the bad guys strictly limit their use of phones.

Interesting point: the FBI profile of serial killers says that their first kill is usually at 27.5. year of age. This guy was a week or so away from age 28 when he allegedly killed these 4 students.

I don't get this guy....obviously a psychopath it SEEMS....

we have to see the evidence though....

what is going to be horrible though is sitting thru all this "he wore gloves" and the "he was mean to the waitresses" crap.....

I am over this story....

IMO too, he probably followed some of those students because I think a couple of them had intense social media.....rumors that one of the was on onlyfans but I have no proof.

"Two of the female victims were “ killed in a bed together” Were these women lesbians? Or simply cuddly sorority sisters? I have to wonder if this was any factor in inflaming this monster to target them and commit murder?

No, not lesbians.

Saw a video in another thread which explains this.

In a gruesome nut shell, dude slashed one girl. When he slashed the other one who had screamed, he tossed her on the same bed. Thus they were on the same bed. Apparently the second girl had walked in on the scene. On people's security cameras a scream could be heard at 3:30 am.

Deep down he wanted to get caught, so people would know he did the crimes.

Excellent point.

Abusers tell us what to think. When our conclusions are not as they would have them be, they are revolted and disgusted.

For them, the (predetermined, pre-promulgated) conclusion is the most portant thing. Words, logic, communication are all means to that end, Tobe adopted, warped, thrown out, as necessary to advance the “moral” agenda.

“Not if you show chain of custody.”

Considering how long a fingerprint lasts, a prints in a public place are next to impossible to get let alone show a chain. You have to identify a suspect before you can go looking for prints in a store.

Besides, stores have cameras.

“He left DNA at the scene.”

That’s my point. He focused on dumb stuff while ignoring the important stuff that would nail him.

Sounds like he was a radical leftist. Wonder if his victims were Trump supporters?
