Happy New Year, my Freeper Friends!

Today is my Freepiversary, too. Signed up on New Years Eve in 1998. The Clintons were in the White House and I was SOOOO depressed because I thought I was the only one who hated them. Then, from a link off of Drudge (before he took it down), I found FR. I sat and cried that night while I could hear the fireworks in the distance. Here, on Free Republic, was proof that I wasn’t alone!

Since then, I had a stroke that forced me to retire. Relearned to type, walk, write, and feed myself. Then I learned to quilt and to do machine embroidery.

Learned all over again that FrogDad is an awesome man. Talk about for better or worse, whew! It will be our 53rd anniversary on Groundhog day. In the stroke recovery groups I follow, I frequently see people whose spouses have... just left, leaving them broken in both body and heart. I ache for them.

Through all of it, I had FR. I no longer read EVERY article, it’s too depressing. I avoid some Freepers, they are prigs. I look for some Freepers, they are like family.

All in all, like the Chinese proverb, I live in interesting times.
