Trump Suggests He’d Be Willing to Exercise the Bull Moose Option in Cryptic Truth Social Post
American Tribune ^ | 12/29/2022 | Will (staff)

"The Republican Party of 1912 decided it would be better off renominating William Howard Taft, even though its voters would have preferred another Roosevelt term. The resulting split ushered in Woodrow Wilson and the first academic globalists, whose bright ideas laid the groundwork for a second world war on the eve of the conclusion of the first. ...

But, despite the obvious differences, we’re heading for a 1912-repeat, in which the Republican Party ignores its own voters. The Republican machine has no intention of letting us choose Trump again: He is not a uniparty team player. They’d rather lose an election to the Democrats, their brothers in crime, than win with Trump.

That leads us to the inevitable question: What should we do when a majority of Republicans want Trump, but the Republican Party says we can’t have him?"

Are you a RINO?

No. And you are another person lacking all discernment and common sense. I have stated several times that I will probably vote for either DeSantis or Trump (neither one is a RINO) in the primaries and likely either one primary in the general. But I want to hear what they have to offer. Any intelligent person would.

Be better.

You are most welcome, Sir. We Southerners gotta stick together, especially us Tennesseans.

It seemed to me people were just having fun with the cheese and sisters biting moose on this thread. Hard for Freepers to turn down a good moose joke.

But I’ve noticed people turning more and more surly and mean here in general. It keeps getting worse. FR did not use to be like this. Sure, there were some spats here and there, but we used to be a lot more polite and helpful and respectful of each other. I keep hoping we’ll go back to that.

An independent vote will surely see the win of a Democrat candidate.. but what in saying is that they already won.

Between time magazines article on how they affected the vote, and the proof and admission that Twitter and probably all the socials suppressed any details that favored conservatism... we should be able to easily overturn the election.

But we won’t for that other part. Republicans, myself included, don’t actually fight. We grouse to each other. Those in the position to do something about it without violence are paid very well by the same machine. Even the legislators who voted against the new omnibus - they are pretending. Their paycheck is in that bill.

The ones on our side are all actors except maybe 4 of them. Trump and DeSantis are included, but Trump is the least fighter of them.

Wishful thinking is a foolish move he’s up by 24 points on everyone.

Leading in some polls, losing to DeSantis in others.

My point still stands. He can't flip a single state he lost in '20. If Republican primary voters are stupid enough to nominate Trump for '24, he will lose yet again.

How does Trump flip AZ, GA, MI, PA, and WI? And he needs to flip at least three of them and in four of these states he's completely toxic.

Because of people who are purests

No, because the cheat machine is still in all the key urban places (except in Florida where some guy got rid of it).

Here's the reality. Trump won't garner as many votes in 2024 as he did in 2020. but neither will DeSantis win as many votes as Trump did in 2020.

And the red-mirage will still be there, perfected now and permanent.

This is all an exercise in chest-thumping by Conservatives here in our echo chamber, but the Titanic has already split in half and it's going down. Keep one of those re-arranged deck chairs handy, it might come in handy as a floatation device until the hypothermia sets in.

“The establishment is pining for Mitt Romney to run again.”

If that happens, then the Republican party will definitely be “pining for the fjords”.

Gently suggest folks read up on the history.

Then think metaphorically, not literally.

Few here dispute he can get renominated but only his most blindly devoted fanatics refuse to see he has done nothing to build a winning coalition with crossover voters. People will stay home or vote against his endorsements or proxies or himself. We say it in 2022. We cannot stop Biden/Harris in 2024 if Trump heads the ticket. He’s toxic and self sabotaging beyond comprehension. He could have fixed this after 2020 but he’s done everything to make himself unelectable, harm the movement and the party. He’s unhinged and unfocused. It’s too late for a Trump 2nd term. We need to MOVE ON if we’re going to fix the direction of this country. I am deeply skeptical of DeSantis and even more so with the media hyping him.

Not losing to DeSantis he already put on the MSM rack only the pilot light is on until the year of the election they already have taken a few warning shots on him them the afterburner goes on.
There is no single to flip yet the democrats are doing as in the midterm election they have dark money for the Republican they want in the race.
The medias more than willing to help like last time.

Conservatives aren't going to tolerate illegal immigration or amnesty, neocon foreign policy or going back to voting for politicians that break their promises.

I'll take my chances with state secession and civil war before I do that.

This is situation is completely a result of Mitch McConnell and the GOP establishment sabotaging Trump while in office, being complicit in rigging the election in 2020 and undermining MAGA candidates in the last election.

Trump probably should have gone third party of 2020 as there is no chance American First conservatives will ever gain control of the GOP.

Trump, you fool, is the ONLY Republican President in decades to keep his promises, which he did to even a greater extent than Reagan.

Go freep yourself if that wasn't good enough. I don't believe you're a conservative.

Your points are all valid. It isn't too late to recover, but I also don't know if Trump has the ability to pivot back to MAGA and away from Trump-because-he's-Trump. We miss Roger Ailes greatly.

I know it always seems like there's not enough country left to throw another presidential election, but the RINO elements have to be purged (or at least get with the program).

I have to admit that I know relatively little about DeSantis, except he was proved right about COVID lockdowns, and his state is prospering when others are not, he’s anti abortion and a conservative across the board - and he won a purple state in a landslide.

No candidate is perfect, and all competent executives have to compromise to govern. It seems like he would be a good POTUS, based upon his record in FLA, and, most important, he’s electable - he doesn’t alienate people like Trump does.
