Thousands of Russian troops have already died in the continued battle of Bakhmut, according to a Ukrainian close to the action.
Serhiy Haidai, governor of the Russian-occupied Luhansk region, said Monday on his Telegram page that the city under the Ukrainian flag has become a new military home for Russian paratroopers who were transferred from Kherson and are now fighting in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions.
Mobilized troops who trained for two months in the Russian Federation "can only slightly halt the offensive of the [Ukraine] Armed Forces," he added, saying "they will not change the general picture."
"It is no longer even a strategic military plan, although there is such a thing, but a rather symbolic matter—which the Kremlin regime loves very much," Haidai said.
He also alleged that Chechen forces, led by Ramzan Kadyrov, and the mercenary Wagner Group helmed by Yevgeny Prigozhin, want to prove themselves to Putin—who Haidai referred to as "the bunker grandpa."
Kadyrov has called for Ukraine's cities to be "erased from the earth" while also being critical of strategies put forward by Putin and other Russian generals.

Time for Plan X....................
“Ukraine”
I’ll wait until Russia confirms this, given the record of Ukrainian sources.
"Evil Plan Z can't possibly fail!"
no wonder Putin is trying to get some “peace settlement” to lock in the ill-gotten gains
didn’t work for Nazi Germany in 1943 or 44 ... they just kept getting pushed back
Sadly, the person who was going to confirm this was thrown out a window. Again. But don’t worry, Alexi will bring integrity to Ukrainian cor— whoops, Alexi fell out a window. Ivan, can you check on Alexi? Oh, wait, Ivan fell out a window, too.
Newsweek has always been my source for the most accurate and trustworthy fake news
The Ukrainians lose 5 - 8 soldiers for every Russian soldier killed. That’s not in the article because it doesn’t uphold the deceptive lie being used to keep the war ‘going’ and keep the money flowing.
If the world knew that the Ukraine is as badly outgunned and out manned as they actually are, then there would be unpleasant questions about why the Ukraine is preparing to conscript boys down to 13 years of age, and why it has notified the disabled to prepare to join the war.
There’s no need to keep throwing Ukrainian citizens into the wood chipper - it’s being done for optics alone.
Losing them? Are they lost or killed? Mutilated? Blowed up real good? Or just froze to death?
That’s stupid since Russian sources are proven to lie, but also its a lie because every time I post Pro-Russian sources saying something bad, you guys say it’s propaganda too.
“Sadly, the person who was going to confirm this was thrown out a window.”
Yep, some days it doesn’t pay to get out of bed.
Any information that contradicts my unsupported prior assumptions is obviously false.
“according to a Ukrainian close to the action.”
Well. It’s gotta be true then. /s
If the ratio is 1 Russian soldier killed for every 8 Ukrainians, then there should be a lot of bodies considering I’ve been looking at photos with piles of dead Russkies around Bakhmut. 19 in one photo, 6 or 7 in a few others each, and Ukrainian soldiers showing video of torn up armor, all within past 24 hours.
So that means for your math to work there should be photos of 200+ dead Ukrainians from the past 24 hours and 64 blown up Ukrainian tanks (if the 1 to 8 ratio applies to armor).
Should be easy to substantiate that since both sides have cameras and video on drones, right?
Russian official confirmation will come in the form of announcements about another “goodwill gesture” that involves fleeing positions under fire.
We’ve seen this before at Kiev, Snake Island, Nikolaev, Kherson, Sumy, Kharkov, Chernigov, etc.
“Russian official confirmation will come in the form of announcements about another “goodwill gesture” that involves fleeing positions under fire.”
Ok, I’ll wait for that, don’t see it yet, though.
fixed it
According to a Ukrainian??? Seriously?
Yes. We may have to recalculate for Polish troops or other foreigners - so the dead ratio will change with the training and weaponry of NATO troops. Not many of the Ukrainian troops have any experience or training whereas donated Polish troops or other NATO forces could be actual soldiers.
But good luck getting unbiased footage, although there was some footage recorded by the Ukrainian military as they proudly executed (war crimes) against the Russian POW’s whom they ordered to lie down before shooting them in the head. With the Neo Nazi Azovs committing war crimes like that, ‘objective’ footage is hard to come by unless it suits the optics.
