Widespread riots erupted in Paris after a woman and two men were shot dead yesterday at a Kurdish cultural center and a nearby cafe in the 10th arrondissement of Paris.

It’s an Israeli web site. I live in Israel. As soon as Shabbat is over, it’s the first thing I look to. A lot of what goes on on this side of Greenwich Mean Time gets to us before it’s in the news in the US.

That's my complaint, the site offered details other than riots broke out after three people were shot.
No who, what, why detail wise. They did provide the where & the when, sort of.
In other words, it is basically worthless.

It says something is happening in Paris involving a mass shooting and some Kurds, one time zone away from me. I didn’t know anything was happening until I saw it there. It’s useful to that extent.
According to the Le Parisien newspaper, there were shouts of “long live the resistance of the Kurdish people!” and demonstrators carried the flag of the PKK (the Kurdistan Workers’ Party) a U.S.-designated Marxist terrorist group.
Not to us a half a world away. I provided you with a news story that has some meat to it. Even yo ucan learn more about it now.

PKK are a Kurdish terrorist group that has killed several innocent Turks and others over the years.

Lots of Muslims and Africans when I was there in 1991 (I was last there in 2016) so the answer is yes.
Kurdistan is divided between Turkey, Iraq, Iran and Syria. About 3/4 of the Kurds are Sunni Muslims — there are other religions there, some familiar, some obscure — but the Kurds are so much opposed to the governments that rule them that religion isn’t as big a factor there as it is in the rest of the Middle East. The Kurds fought against Isis which they saw as another gang of outsiders trying to rule over them. But I’m not an expert either.
