there are instances where I have no clue as to the right thing to do. why? because of the law of unintended consequences.

I don’t understand how this plays out.

imho the gop needs a real fighter in the house—one at least as good as the dem speaker what’s her name.

Is McCarthy that person? I don’t know. I know he is not the most conservative. But a person can be the most conservative and yet have poor leadership skills, poor organizational skills, poor political skills.

what we have not seen is some one more conservative than McCarthy— to step up and offer a convincing alternative to McCarthy. the emphasis in the last sentence should be on “convincing alternative”-and not “more conservative”

Look, McCarthy is a uniparty/RINO/Establishment guy... he’s going to be the speaker.. and will be forced to expose the nonsense that is the uniparty reality in the process.

If he can’t get enough votes form the Republican caucus, he will absolutely cut a deal to get some democrat votes in exchange for something, nor many somethings.

These people literally were co conspirators in stealing an election to remove the non uniparty person from power, you think for one second they are going to step aside? Absolutely not.

I hope I am surprised when this is all said and done, and am proven wrong, but I fully expect McCarthy will be the speaker and he will “sell out” (but not really, because he’s part of the establishment/uniparty/globalist cabal, and whatever “sell out” he does to get the votes, was something they were planning to do anyway, just not so openly about it in the future anyway).

We shall see.. I hope I am proven wrong, but I am at the point where I’ve seen the man behind the curtain and can’t pretend I haven’t any longer.

I don’t understand how this plays out.

If McCarthy can't win within 218 votes in the first few ballots, a small group of RINOS will likely work with DEMS to select one of the furthest left Republicans in the House as Speaker. We could end up with a Speaker that makes McCarthy look like a rock ribbed conservative. Essentially, the Dems will decide the agenda. That's the "doomsday scenario".

You bring up a good point. We need a Conservative, but also a good parliamentarian. Someone who knows how the rules of congress work inside and out. The conundrum seems to be that any such person that has come to understand the system has then become corrupted by the system.

How do we get someone savvy enough to game the system so as to clean up the system rather than to ensure that the rotten den of corruption persists?

For the most part, McCarthy played ball with Trump when Trump was President and he’s pretty much played ball with the Biden administration as Minority Leader. As Minority Leader he could have fought harder and spoken out more regarding Jan. 6th and the election theft. His backing of Establishment candidates in the mid-terms is troubling. But in practical terms, as Minority Leader, he had little control over the legislative agenda, particularly when the Speaker was someone who had no respect for parliamentary procedure. If he ends up getting elected as Speaker, as he probably will, the Freedom Caucus needs to hold his feet to the fire constantly and be willing to oust him mid-term if he doesn’t support a MAGA agenda.

Jim Jordan. Or Lauren Boebert. I Marjorie Taylor Greene. That’s what we need right now.

Pelosi is a dirtbag, but she fought. Hate the witch, but admire the determination.

We need a younger, pissed-off, America-First street fighter in that position.

A Middle finger in their face Speaker. Someone who will tear up a democrat state of the union speech in THEIR faces.

Harmeet Dhillon is in the running.

She would do a great job imo.

My 1st choice has been Rep Jorden but he has declared for McCarthy.

Why are so many good Patriotic GOP members in favor of “the next in line” syndrome?
