The arctic blast rocking the country is expected to reach its highest intensity on Friday, producing what the National Weather Service (NWS) is describing as “widespread disruptions” heading into the holiday weekend as over half the U.S. population finds itself under a winter storm warning, watch, or advisory.
The blizzard, dubbed Winter Storm Elliott, has triggered dramatic temperature drops across the U.S., with some cities seeing temperatures plummet 40 degrees in less than an hour, smashing records.

Winter was never this cold before global warming.
“dubbed Winter Storm Elliott“
Yet they didn’t even mention our Snow Flurries Fluffy or our Cold Snap Casper or our Windy Wednesday Wally or our Rainy Sprinkly Thomas.
The nerve of hose weather people to be so divisive. Weather needs DIE.
Damned “Climate Change”. Wife and I are moving to Texas next year to get away from all this bull$^!t climate change.
Elliot? Why not E'Shawn or Eustaniasha? Sounds like the weather service needs an updated book of names. I'm waiting for Obamaneisha to make the list of bad weather events.
Don’t forget pop-up thunderstorm “Bruce” last August!
Is Gore giving a speech in Missouri this week?
Despite apocalyptic forecasts, here in central Indiana we only got about 2 in snow. However it would have been trouble if there was a bunch, because the winds have been strong over the last 16 hours. Still 7 below zero at noontime.
Elliott is going to give 200 million Americans E.T. asses a ride around the moon in his bicycle basket. In Texas Hill Country we aren’t even going to get a “wintery mix.” Of course, gas went up 14 cents a gallon yesterday. Haven’t checked today yet.
It was around 10 last night here in the DFW area. We should be warmed up a bit by the time you get here. ;-)

The wind changed direction where I am this morning. The wind froze the moisture in the door jam of the sliding glass door. It was a completely sealed. This is where my dog goes out to do his business. The poor puppy had to dance while I used a heat gun to open the door. I guess it’s getting a bit chilly outside.
9 degrees this morning in Alabama it doesnt happen often but it does happen
Jeez, I’m 49 and we have never had 10 below in Minnesota in my lifetime. I’m not sure how to approach this.
the climate change / COVID cult is firmly embedded in Texass.
Texas got filled up to the brim with refugees from California prior to 2020, and just recently got a surge of cute liberals from major innercities all over when the cities got attacked by the FBI's ANTIFA/BLM francise and flushed them out into middle america
Texas is turning blue
Seems to me the use of cultural names was suggested years ago. From what I recall, that was shot down because IF the storm was bad enough, just the name would be detrimental to “cultural” folks who didn’t want the blame.
that’s weird, Im in western slope of NW Colorado at 6500ft and it’s a balmy 40f all week
