In Testimony, Hannity and Other Fox Employees Said They Doubted Trump’s Fraud Claims
NY Times ^

Posted on 12/21/2022 6:05:39 PM PST by GulliverSwift

On Nov. 30, 2020, Sean Hannity hosted Sidney Powell on his prime-time Fox News program. As she had in many other interviews around that time — on Fox and elsewhere in right-wing media — Ms. Powell, a former federal prosecutor, spun wild conspiracy theories about what she said was “corruption all across the country, in countless districts,” in a plot to steal re-election from the president, Donald J. Trump.

At the center of this imagined plot were machines from Dominion Voting Systems, which Ms. Powell claimed ran an algorithm that switched votes for Mr. Trump to votes for Joseph R. Biden Jr. Dominion machines, she insisted, were being used “to trash large batches of votes.”

Mr. Hannity interrupted her with a gentle question that had been circulating among election deniers, despite a lack of supporting proof: Why were Democrats silencing whistle-blowers who could prove this fraud?

Did Mr. Hannity believe any of this?

“I did not believe it for one second.”

That was the answer Mr. Hannity gave, under oath, in a deposition in Dominion’s $1.6 billion defamation lawsuit against Fox News, according to information disclosed in a court hearing on Wednesday. The hearing was called to address several issues that need to be resolved before the case heads for a jury trial, which the judge has scheduled to begin in April....

And in some cases, other high-profile hosts and senior executives echoed Mr. Hannity’s doubts about what Mr. Trump and his allies like Ms. Powell were saying, according to the Dominion lawyer, Stephen Shackelford.

This included Meade Cooper, who oversees prime-time programming for Fox News, and the prime-time star Tucker Carlson, Mr. Shackelford said.

Sean owes his radio success to following Rush, and his TV success to following O’Reilly. He is repetitive, interruptive, and droning.

“OH BTW.
Trump accomplished more in one 4yr term than any other President in your lifetime.”

Is America still great again? What accomplishments of Trump’s have lasted to this day?

“I did not believe it for one second.”

Wow. He actually testified this, in Dominion's lawsuit AGAINST FOX for falsely reporting the story?

Sounds like he personally handed them a win in the lawsuit.

No lawyer prepping him for the interview, that worked for FOX as well, or wanted FOX to win, would have wanted that statement to be given under oath.

So FOX and Hannity have blatantly THROWN this case to Dominion.

I never could stand Hannity; nor could I figure out what any conservative saw in the smarmy, worthless punk.

It is weird how people are only reading the headline, ignoring the other people mentioned in the excerpt. Tucker Carlson isn’t directly quoted in the article though so I suppose we’ll have to see what he was saying behind closed doors.

Orders came down from Ryan and the Murdoch kids, if you want to stay on the air you better Kill any voter fraud talk and that is what they did. The sam thing a month ago. Any voter fraud story was crushed with prejudice.

I remember when Hannity followed Rush on the radio. It was like listening to a repeat of Rush's show. Have not listened to or watched him for years.

Neither are Clay and Buck. It’s a shame what that program has become. Mark Stein would have been a better choice.

.
Of course, Hannity is a fraud.

His contract is dictated by Ratings.

He’s embarrassed by Conservatives and speaks to them like they’re kids (radio, especially), but that’s his following, he’s not going to leave $30 Million on the table to speak like his bestie Geraldo.

He’s trying to rehab Pence, he loves RINO Tim Scott.

Don’t listen to what he says, watch what he does.

Pretty much all the good he did converting people to conservatism and entertaining and informing them goes down the drain when he exposes himself as a sunshine patriot when it counted.

Aside from the overturning Roe v Wade, he continues to expose the neocon and Uniparty scum infesting this country.

When the conservatives cut the cord to the conservative-RepukeLicking coalition and leave the RePukes to the tender mercies of Democrat Party vote fraud, we'll be popping up big batches of popcorn for the show.

In his early days, he just didn’t have it. You could tell
he was trying to tune into the Rush income stream (loosely),
and some issues just didn’t register with him.

Conservatives very seldom get some of the issues, and not
all of them, if they truly get it at all.

Now they may start slow and you’ll see progress, but with
Hannity I never saw a progression where he got better over
time.
