The "Twitter files", an exposé of internal communications at the social media platform, has reheated interest in Hunter Biden's laptop, a story that revealed potentially compromising correspondence between an adviser at Ukraine energy firm Burisma and President Joe Biden's son.
While the significance of the "Twitter files" is under debate, it has reignited examination of the reach that behind-the-scenes characters had in the proliferation of the early Hunter Biden reports, including the role of figures from the U.S. intelligence community.
The Claim
Congressman Jim Jordan (R-OH) stated in a Facebook post published on 15 December 2022, that "51 former 'intelligence' officials told us the Hunter Biden laptop was disinformation."
"That was false. Turns out, the real disinformation campaign was created by our own government and woke Twitter executives," he added......
The document Jim Jordan refers to is an open letter signed by 51 intelligence experts and directors about the Hunter Biden story.
The letter stated that these former intelligence officials, based on their past experience, had serious concerns that the laptop had the potential to be linked to Russian disinformation efforts.
But it also did not make a determination on if the reported contents of the laptop were genuine, and said they had no evidence to link Russia with the story.
"We want to emphasize that we do not know if the emails, provided to the New York Post by President Trump's personal attorney Rudy Giuliani, are genuine or not, and that we do not have evidence of Russian involvement—just that our experience makes us deeply suspicious that the Russian government played a significant role in this case," the letter said.

Jordan is echoing Biden’s debate words...
Ruling - mostly true, needs context. (Fair enough.)
But once context is applied, that is, how the media USED the 51 intel cronies, then it’s 100% true.
Still, that’s a major capitulation for Newsweak. Something’s afoot?
But it also did not make a determination on if the reported contents of the laptop were genuine, and said they had no evidence to link Russia with the story.
But based on that letter, You, Newsweak, and other news outlets suppressed any stories about the laptop and its contents.
Not only did the MSM and Joe run with the letter as evidence the laptop was fake, they then deleted all stories about it on Facebook and Twitter.
45% of Biden voters said in a recent poll had they known about the laptop and its contents it would have impacted how they voted.
Now here’s the same media leftist liars telling us reality isn’t reality.
They never stop lying. When caught lying they go back and lie about their lie.
Just like Fauci claims “gain of function” does not mean what everyone thinks it means.
More lies, distortions and obfuscation by the communists. Eff Newsweek and their fact-check.
This was one means for suppressing a story that would not have been suppressed if it was Eric Trump’s laptop.
So, they can all stop playing this game of “fact” because we know that the DHS, FBI, DNI, etc are coordinating on a regular basis with the media and tech companies.
They cannot deny it.

Intelligence officials said it could be Russian disinformation. That gave cover for not just Twitter, but all the social media and main stream media to bury the story. Now their defense is they only said “it could be” while the media’s defense is that we were relying on the intelligence experts. Sound familiar? Fauci’s defense is now that he and CDC only recommended everything be shut down but didn’t order anyone to do it. The local governments that shut down the schools and businesses defense is that we were only relying on the health experts. Everything got messed up, our rights were violated, but apparently nobody is to blame. Funny how that game works.
And so it begins. ‘It depends on what te meaning of is, is.”
In a real world, this story would go down in required MBA classes describing a classic example of how Fake News was created during the Trump era. It is factual in what the exact words are but is totally fake because of what it DOESN’T include.
For starters, as the first time NewsWeak even writes about this, it implies the laptop story is only about Hunter Biden and Burisma. It completely ignores the fact that it is voluminous proof of rampant corruption in the entire Biden family.
It completely ignores all of the ‘Big Guy’, Joe’s involvement.
It brings up nothing about the ‘wink-wink’ actions that allowed a corrupt media to do exactly what it did - kill the story.
The good news, however small, is that is shows that the corrupt Fake News media can no longer pretend the story doesn’t exist.
Did the 51 intelligence “experts” lie about HB’s laptop? Well, all I know is their official statement had all the earmarks of a calculated lie.
Yep. “Earmarks”! So tricky.
Supposedly these “experts” put their reputations on the line by choosing to put forth their opinion. They had no requirement to do so, it was therefore based on political motivations, not professionalism.
As usual there is no accountability for government “experts” coming out as political operatives.
The 51 intelligence clowns also gave cover to Biden during the debate. Of course the FBI had the lap top for a year so they knew it was true!
Great comment
Bingo! Why did these people feel compelled to come together to write an opinion they KNEW would impact an election? Who brought them together? Why didn’t their “expertise,” based on the open information that that the dossier was Hillary BS, lead them to believe the opposite? Is this an indication of their incompetence? And the biggie...
So, given their “this MAY BE disinformation” hedging, why is it that not one of them ran to the media and complain that their opinion was being misrepresented?
Even if they didn’t The Big Guy claimed...repeatedly claimed...that they did.
