White House expects to ‘work successfully’ with Sinema despite party change

The White House on Friday downplayed the ramifications of Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (Ariz.) announcing that she will leave the Democratic Party and officially register as an independent days after Democrats had secured a 51-49 majority in the Senate.

“We understand that her decision to register as an independent in Arizona does not change the new Democratic majority control of the Senate, and we have every reason to expect that we will continue to work successfully with her,” press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said in a statement. Jean-Pierre praised Sinema as a “key partner on some of the historic legislation President Biden has championed over the last 20 months,” including two major reconciliation bills that included Biden’s economic priorities, as well as bipartisan legislation on gun laws, semiconductor manufacturing and protections for gay marriage.

Biden visited Arizona last week and recognized Sinema as an advocate for the state in his remarks touting a new investment in semiconductor production. Sinema reportedly did not join Biden on Air Force One for the trip, however.

I really want Manchin to flip because Schumer is way too cocky these days.

She and Manchin might object to the most ridiculous bills.
They’re not conservatives, but they’re all we have.
Assuming our RINO traitors can be kept in line.

The day after Schumer was boasting about his majority, Sinema torpedoes them. Talk about a massive middle finger.

ROFLMAO

It would be funny if Machin remained a Democrat for electoral purposes but caucused with Republicans because, as he has put it in the past, he is a “West Virginia Democrat, and that isn’t the same thing as a Washington Democrat.”

Not sure if this is anything more than cosmetic!
Rufus King & Bernie Saunders are “independents”, they caucus with the Rats thus giving the Rats votes for control.

Has she said anything for us to think otherwise?

She’s doing this to fend off primary voters. She knows she’s in trouble in the Democratic primary. as an independent, she can run in the Senate seat as an independent. Democrats will have to figure out if they want to have their own candidate. It’s actually a brilliant strategy.

So, you don’t think the Rats will run their own candidate?
There was a Hispanic guy ready to challenger her. You think he’ll just back down?

Its brilliant only if she knows there is a high probably of the Navada Rats not running their own candidate.

To keep Schumer from stacking committees is huge, too.

Schumer is way too cocky these days

Indeed the senate is a 50-50 now so much about his boasting having a 51-49 senate.

Hope Sen. Kyrsten Sinema burns his plans.

We got what we got because McConnell was in charge of taking back the Senate. He would rather lead a minority in the Senate, than take his chances of being ousted from Senate leader.
