A very large part of modern Ukraine is ethnic Russian, by some standards. The whole city of Kiev, for one, mostly speaks Russian. Most of Ukraine east of the Dneiper speaks Russian. Zelensky himself grew up speaking Russian, not Ukrainian.

A lot of that is from the 19th-20th century Russian immigration into the then economically dynamic Ukraine. Ukraine, though in the empire, was an economically “liberal” place then, vs Old Russia, in entrepreneurship and landownership. See “A Peoples Tragedy”, Orlando Figes.

And then there were the Tsarist and Soviet educational systems that created an effectively unilingual track for promotion and careers within the empire. If one wanted a professional/bureaucratic career, or get ahead at all, one had to learn Russian.

And then there were regions that were settled by Russians entirely, when in Tsarist times these were taken from the Turks and Tatars, or parts of the formerly empty steppe were turned into farmland and industrial cities, and administratively included in “Ukraine”, as it was a division of the empire.

So lots of people learned Russian and many Russian settlers came, and “new” bits of Russian settlement were added to it.

That all doesnt have much to do with wanting to BE Russian, politically. Being Russian in that sense, historically, means being ruled from Moscow. Not good.

Imagine if foreigners insisted on calling you “English” and assumed you were loyal to the British Crown and Parliament on account of the language you speak, and that where you live was once part of the British Empire, and that it must be so again.

Bull: the Ukrainians are shutting down the Russian Orthodox Church which has functioned as little more than an arm of the Russian state since Peter the Great.

“If we do not help Zelenksy and Ukraine a ruthless anti US dictator could take over Ukraine.”

Too late - the US helped already - in 2014 - by overthrowing the democratically elected Ukraine government, installing a puppet regime and setting it up with a T-shirted ruthless dictator who’s dependent on NAZI forces to maintain power.

Zelensky has only banned political parties who favor Russia. We banned the nazi party in WWII

A poster said it best above. Zelensky is only banning part of the orthodox church that happens to be pro Russia.

Louie, Zalensky was not elected until 2019 and he won with 75% of the countries vote. Porochenko the dictator we put in only got 25% of the vote.

Like I said, the globalist agenda is to implement global fascism, and the Ukes (and turgid tranny cheerleaders) are their useful idiots.

True about Peter the Great, but even before that it was the “state church”, effectively, of the Grand Duchy of Moscow.

Western Europe was lucky in many ways, among them being the fact that for 1500 years the Catholic Church was (usually) an independent power that did not answer to any particular secular governments. Indeed, church-state tension and conflict was a constant in Western European history. That led to a multipolar system and what became political liberalism.

This Ukrainian misadventure will out to be one for the record books. How U.S. took the side of a hand picked Soro’s clown artist to prove Putin ‘bad.’ It reminds me of the Janet Rino story where she had to burn down Waco and the inhabitants to ‘save it.’

I guess I would have to. I mean it's not like your situation, all bent over, taking whatever schwab is inserting into you. "You'll own nothing but mein Blutwurst and you'll like it!"

If you are looking at this as a Christian, then you need to look closer, it is about a Soviet/KGB/Russia/Putin-controlled church, a state religion of the nation that is invading Ukraine, and its aid to the invading enemy.

“”Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Not to be confused with Orthodox Church of Ukraine.
Members 6% of the Ukrainian Orthodox population””

“”The Orthodox Church of Ukraine
Members 78% of the Ukrainian Orthodox population””

“You’ll own nothing but mein Blutwurst and you’ll like it!”

Record private home ownership througout the world. Even in China, India and Africa. Even in most 2nd and 3rd world countries. Ex Communist Romania has 95% private home ownership.

So tell me who is going to take all these homes away wordwide? A few elites? I don’t think so. The Great Reset is total garbage. A scam made up by liberals to sucker in some guillable conservatives. No true conservative believes the garbage

The Eastern Orthodox churches all inherited the caesaropapism of the Eastern Roman Empire, so they were always tools or at least far more closely allied to the secular rulers of their respective realms, apart from the French capture of the Roman Catholic papacy during the "Babylonian Captivity" in Avignon.

The collapse of the Western Empire left the church there in an odd position: in many places, the bishoprics continued what remained of the Roman civil administration and were staffed by members of the old Roman senatorial class like Gregory of Tours. In some cities they even formed their own independent states like Cologne and Salzburg. Once the Byzantines were ejected from Rome, the Popes had no desire to once again find themselves hauled off by the civil authorities and quickly asserted the independence of the church. As you point out, the battles between the Catholic Church and civil authorities provided much of the context for independent civil institutions absent from Orthodox countries.

Not only is Putin up to no good, but he is isolated, ill-advised by the toadies around him, and prone to let his ambitions exceed his capabilities. A conflict was near inevitable, and Putin’s invasion of Ukraine provides a more favorable venue for the US than defending the Baltic states.

Russian speakers made up almost 50% of Ukraine's inhabitants: there were no attacks on Russians until Putin's hybrid war in 2014 pitted his paid thugs against those loyal to Ukraine and many people found themselves forced to choose their loyalties.

Putin's 2014 attack was the real provocation, nothing the Ukrainian regime did.

LOL! Say, weren't you just moaning about aligning with dictatorial countries such as China a couple of posts ago? Now you're all buddies with them. Too funny.

The Great Reset is total garbage.

The Great Reset is a fact and it is happening. Doesn't matter if you think it's a liberal conspiracy theory to trick Conservatives (into doing what? Resist global commies and love America even more?) Also, the housing market in China is collapsing as we speak.

The only people defending/deflectin on WEF on FR are paid deep state "influencers" and retards. Pick either, but I've already determined which of the two you are.

“Zalensky was not elected until 2019”

That’s why I said in 2014 the US set up the puppet regime, as opposed to a single person. The puppets are interchangeable and most usually end up dead, either by a CIA-run hit or by the populace, a la Mussolini/Gaddafi.

That was an absolutely great "Tucker" segment.   I didn't get a chance to watch it last night, and I really appreciate your posting it here.  (It's a shame that only a certain segment of America will even hear this information.)

There ought to be some practical way to spread that information to (well-meaning, perhaps) genuine "liberals" and non-Fox/non-FR libertarians, who are currently "blissfully ignorant" of these horrendous things, and maybe wouldn't be fully on-board with them if they knew about them.
