Kellyanne Conway to Trump: Voters Want President to Talk About the People’s Grievances Not His Own
Breitbart ^ | 12/07/2022 | Pam Key

Posted on 12/07/2022 7:38:17 PM PST by ChicagoConservative27

Fox News contributor and former Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway said Wednesday on Fox Business Network’s “Kudlow” that voters want a president to talk about their grievances, not his own, like the former president’s remarks about suspending the Constitution over the 2020 presidential election.

Host Larry Kudlow said, “This business about suspending the Constitution because we learned there was free speech by finagling with Twitter. I mean, come on. You don’t suspend the Constitution. And he’s got to get off 2020. He just has to.”

Conway said, “Look, I think elections are always about the future, not the past. People want presidential candidates, particularly a former president who was successful on energy, economy, national security, so many other issues. They want that person to talk about the people’s grievances and not their own.”

Shouldn’t take more than one post on this thread for someone
to point that out.

Trump’s concerns are our concerns! Who knew? /s

It’s sad to see so many people not thinking critically.

We had George Bush (GW) that allowed the Left to push him
all over the mat, and he wouldn’t utter a grunt in return.

We all concurred on that point. Gosh, if we only had
someone who would defend himself and fight back...

How soon we forget.

Now we have a guy that pushes back, and all of a sudden
we wish we had another milk-toast in there.

Well after all, we are the Republicans. We eat our own.

Trump is the best president we’ve had since Reagan, and
some might actually say better than Reagan too, not to
put Reagan down at all. He was great. I just think
Trump sees some things better.

Now, we read posts all the time saying that Trump should
just retire. He’s old news. We need to move on.

It’s truly disgusting to see folks turn their back on him,
after he had our back so many times.

How would you have stopped ‘the steal’? How do you NOT talk to Xi or even N. Korea’s leaders?

What we wish for is not always gettable, though we can keep wishing and trying.

Georgia passed all kinds of restrictions. They also stopped whining about 2020. It worked across the board. The exact same thing happened in Florida. And it worked there.

Trump needs to get over this. He lost. Lots of people think it was stolen, but the majority disagrees. 2000 Mules failed. I watched it all. I watched Lindell’s crap. None of this stuff is persuasive, especially to just regular people who aren’t going to blow hours watching Lindell jabber like a crack addict. Common sense says if the Democrats can steal at will, then they’d have stolen the House.

Focus on integrity but stop the rehashing like Sore-Loserman 2000.

Agree. We have heard enough about 2020, not enough about the coming onslaught.

She’s trying to tell him.

I don’t want to neuter Trump but I was saying to my wife (for the hundreth time) that I could easily improve Trump’s popularity if he’d listen to me for about an hour.

Her answer for the hundredth time “I don’t think he listens to anybody “.

The point is not that I could help him, it’s that ANYBODY could help him if he’d listen to common sense.

He just needs to reach out to people a little. I love Trump, but arrogance can’t be 24/7 it’s too much.

He could have so much support because of Twitter, Hunter Laptop, investigations, if he’d just avoid things like saying the Constitution needs to be set aside for him.

I’m sorry but it’s a ridiculous unforced error.

I wonder who’s campaign Kellyanne is working for behind the scenes. Trump has been under investigation from even before he became president and still is. I think he has a right to speak to about it.

Trump deserves our support. I don’t consider any of this stuff disqualifying.

But he is a former president, and yeah people expect him to act presidential.

This reference to the Constitution was just idiotic.

The whole point of the Twitter revelations was pro Trump. He could have scored major points without opening his mouth

But he chooses to say something ridiculous. Ok you have to do something about a stolen election. Throw out the rules and do something. What plan is that? who is going to just “do something” outside the law or Constitution? No one.

It was pointless.

Trump’s grievances are also the grievances of those who voted for him. That seems obvious.

Donald Trump probably could have walked into that White House in 2024. All the censorship scandals, the persecuting of Trump, the unpopularity of Biden.

He can’t sound more credible and be serious and simply accept the support of the American people?

The novelty of his brashness has warn off. All he had to do was put on a more serious face.

And he won’t do it.

Wasn’t he already leading Biden in the polls? Why kick that away?

A third party can be created and be successful if it is appealing and can expand the base. The name should be one that everyone could feel is relevant, inclusive, and inviting. Real President Trump would get the majority of the Republican party base to go with him but this is not enough to win the white house.

Serious thought will need to be made on how to take classic Democrat voters. Hispanics would need to be part of that effort but a clear message that resonates with them will need to be made. It would be helpful if we differentiated better the message that we accept your aunt and pappy but not criminals and drug dealers. Traditional values issues have already made and impact on that population.

The young voter is another. disillusioned with traditional organizations creates an opening. They are more libertarian on social issues which is contrary to our party base. A difficult challenge for sure but there is an opening with them on financial issues. Starting with personal finances such as near zero interest student loans instead of forgiveness and national issues such as deficit reduction and spending restraint which has been abandoned by the current Republican party. And a peace not war message

We also need to do a better job reaching out to Muslim populations, be critical to extremist groups yes but open to expanding this voting block by raising moral values issues they hold important.

The African American voter is under the impression they have a financial obligation to the Democrat party. Only when that financial support is gone will they be attracted to another.

I totally reject comments by his Never Trump enemies. McConnell, Rove,Kemp, etc.

But he’s hurting his own image with stupid comments.

Imagine if he would have just attacked censorship on principle.

Freedom of Speech is the Constitution. Could you step on a Free Speech issue any worse than arguing to disregard the Constitution?

Georgia passed all kinds of restrictions.

Great!

Document where in the GA law, chain of custody problems at GA drop boxes are prevented?

Document where in the GA law, source code used in voting machines is required to be non proprietary?

That's not what is really said.

Although he certainly could have explained what meant better the first time that he said it.

I didn’t take an oath to protect us from enemies foreign and domestic. Is Joe Biden not a domestic enemy? Is not stopping what he admitted was a fraudulent election protecting us from Joe? Is Xi & Chan a foreign enemy? I have no problem with him talking and working with foreign leaders. I just don’t like it when he gets played. Frankly he was bragging about his candid and productive talks with Xi about COViD.

He just needs to reach out to people a little.

I’ve visited the official Donald Trump 2024 campaign website several times. Currently it’s set up more to collect personal info, sell merch and solicit donations than it is to publicly lay out his platform, goals and agenda.
