Attributing the decision to wanting to spend more time with his family

Thats the oldest excuse in the book.

FBI agents respond to duties handed to them from above, including the head of the FBI and the head of the DOJ and the president, and the congressional leaders in the house and senate.

All of the high-end government officials are responsible for the corruption that has been ongoing for more than a decade now, and it’s time to get at them.

Government employees should not be able to retire to avoid answering questions regarding their actions while still employed and paid by the tax-payers.

I’m not sure what they’re afraid of. Ultimately, even if there are any criminal charges, a D.C. rat jury would never find them guilty.

News of D’Antuono’s retirement comes just weeks after Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee named him as one of nine FBI employees they would “require prompt testimony” from as they seek to investigate potential political bias at the bureau.

Well, if he's like the other compromised thugs in the FBI he would answer the first three hundred questions with "I don't remember".... Isn't that what Comey did?

All he has to do is deny, deny, deny, deny..then after a period of time, switch to “why are you talking about this, it’s old news and distracting from todays issues”...

Then issue orders to the media to drop the story, and bingo, home free...

Anyone scared of a Republican investigation is a wuss..

Note that the clickbait headline is much different than the first words of the opening sentence (emphasis added):

"Top FBI Official Steps Down ..."
"A top FBI official has stepped down ..."

He can just respond like Clinton and fauci. I heard excerpts of caucus 7 hour dodge. Why can’t the j6 prisoners get the same chance.

Republicans have announced plans to investigate recent operations and actions at the bureau

For what substantial legislative purpose?

Attributing the decision to wanting to spend more time with his family, while I am still able to, he added.

There I added in what he was thinking, but didn't state out loud, to his statement.

Thank you for referencing that article cuz1961. Please note that the following critique is directed at the article and not at you.

"Top FBI Official Steps Down as Republicans Prepare to Probe Into Bureau"

The real question is this imo. How many RINO “MAGA” lawmakers will question why FBI has not done its duty to investigate alleged election fraud under Section 2 of the 14th Amendment? That section is a penalty for states where ballot boxes were rigged.

"14th Amendment, Section 2: Representatives shall be apportioned among the several States according to their respective numbers, counting the whole number of persons in each State, excluding Indians not taxed. But when the right to vote at any election for the choice of electors for President and Vice President of the United States, Representatives in Congress, the Executive and Judicial officers of a State, or the members of the Legislature thereof, is denied to any of the male inhabitants of such State, being twenty-one years of age, and citizens of the United States, or in any way abridged, except for participation in rebellion, or other crime, the basis of representation therein shall be reduced in the proportion which the number of such male citizens shall bear to the whole number of male citizens twenty-one years of age in such State." [Section 2: Apportionment of Representatives]

Consider that the post-Civil War congressional Republicans who drafted Section 2 made it to discourage southern Democrats (my word) from rigging the ballot boxes that Democrats are now alleged to have done for 2020, and now 2022 elections!

Section 2: Apportionment of Representatives
