Seinfeld probably couldn’t be “green lighted” today. And the world would be poorer for its absence,

Watch the British version - Ricky Gervais’s cringe-inducing character David Brent would be blasted to the asteroid belt by wokester outrage. :)

Some good series have been destroyed by woke writers. Super girl was good until a whole episode was dedicated to Super girl’s sister coming out of the closet. Just enough already. Brooklyn 99 almost destroyed itself with an episode dedicated to hating the police.

Especially Mindy Kaling’s character Kelly Kapoor.

We have gained nothing good by this censorship. Mel Brooks made racism ridiculous and laughable. Now political correctness has resuscitated it.

Has what offends people really changed?
Or is it, that Hollywood has become so politically correct that they censor TV shows and movies , to cleanse them of any perceived offense to the grievance groups???

I forgot Caddyshack and Still Crazy, a British film about a 70s rock group getting back together. Could Airplane be made today? I think not.

At least she's up front about it, might even be laughing about it "Ha ha, The Office got picked up by Peacock for a half-a-billion and not a chance they won't show it now. I'm richer than Scrooge McDuck! So NEENER NEENER."
Contrast and compare to the maudlin Friends Reunion show, where Marta Kauffman oy vey'd herself into catatonic verklempt over the fakiest fake faking apology you have ever seen: "So sorry I didn't put blacks and other minorities and homos on the show! Until the end! And I made them hang out with Schwimmer who nobody liked anyway! Oy gevalt boo hoo hoo..."

Monty Python couldn't be made today. And
Fawlty Towers, now comes with an
Offensive Content warning.

In today's world Andy Griffith would be cancelled.
- No trans people.
- They have guns.
- Aunt Bea is a stay at home homemaker.
- Police are respected.
- Bad guys are arrested.
- Barney did dress in drag in a sting operations once.
- And they had Jim Nabors on cast.
Not sure that's enough to save them.

I never watched the series when it aired, but after my youngest son came back here to live in May, it was one of the series he binge watched in my living room. I half-listened to it as he went through the whole series, and I told him then, that the show wouldn’t have been able to be made in this day and age, because nobody has a sense of humor anymore. Even Monty Python’s John Cleese has previously stated that in today’s cancel culture, the comedy the group produced in the past, would never be allowed to air today. Too many snowflakes out there.
