Mindy Kaling, writer and star of “The Office,” recently claimed that the bingeable sitcom couldn’t be made in today’s politically correct climate — because it’s “so inappropriate now.”
“The writers, who I’m still in touch with now, we always talk about how so much of that show we probably couldn’t make now,” Kaling, 43, said during a recent interview on “Good Morning America.”
“Tastes have changed, and honestly what offends people has changed so much now. I think that actually is one of the reasons the show is popular, because people feel like there’s something kind of fearlessness about it or taboo that it talks about,” the New York Times best-selling author added. On reflection, the show is guilty of comments that would not fly in 2022, including problematic jokes about characters’ various ethnicities and sexual orientations. Themes of workplace and sexual harassment, such as icky remarks made about Stanley Hudson’s (Leslie David Baker) young daughter, couldn’t be repeated for today’s audiences.

Although Mindy Kaling is among the woke creeps in Hollywood, she is right. We are too “enlightened” for The Office these days. Stated differently, we have been “pussified” since Obama/Biden.
Gervais has been the anti-woke on a lot of things in real life. Love him.
Some good series have been destroyed by woke writers. Super girl was good until a whole episode was dedicated to Super girl’s sister coming out of the closet. Just enough already. Brooklyn 99 almost destroyed itself with an episode dedicated to hating the police.
It’s not well known that Richard Pryor was a key contributor to Blazing Saddles.
Really? He was originally going to star in it, as well as write.
Especially Mindy Kaling’s character Kelly Kapoor.

We have gained nothing good by this censorship. Mel Brooks made racism ridiculous and laughable. Now political correctness has resuscitated it.
"The Office" continues to be the #1 most streamed show on any streaming service, and has been for several years now.
It isn't that tastes have changed. It's the censorious woke-scolds who are ruining entertainment.
Has what offends people really changed?
Or is it, that Hollywood has become so politically correct that they censor TV shows and movies , to cleanse them of any perceived offense to the grievance groups???
I forgot Caddyshack and Still Crazy, a British film about a 70s rock group getting back together. Could Airplane be made today? I think not.
Contrast and compare to the maudlin Friends Reunion show, where Marta Kauffman oy vey'd herself into catatonic verklempt over the fakiest fake faking apology you have ever seen: "So sorry I didn't put blacks and other minorities and homos on the show! Until the end! And I made them hang out with Schwimmer who nobody liked anyway! Oy gevalt boo hoo hoo..."
