Former Vice President Mike Pence on Monday pushed back on former President Trump’s assertion that the Constitution should be disregarded to allow for him to return to the White House in the wake of new revelations about Twitter’s handling of a controversial story about Hunter Biden.
“I must tell you that I think that everyone that serves in public office, everyone that aspires to serve or serve again should make it clear that we will support and defend the Constitution of the United States,” Pence said on WVOC radio in Columbia, S.C., ahead of a visit to the state on Tuesday.
The former vice president, who has said he is contemplating a 2024 presidential bid, noted that every federal official takes an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution.
Pence added that he believes he upheld his oath to defend the Constitution throughout his four years as Trump’s vice president, particularly in the final weeks of his term as Trump pressured him to reject the 2020 election results.

Said the idiot who didn’t follow the Constitution.
Pence is an NICE USELESS IDIOT! Our Constitution was annihilated by the DEMOCRATS!
Haha! I like it.
Technically he in a sense did.
Either just poorly worded or meant to discredit “MAGA”.
I of course hope the former.
TRUMP DID NOT SAY THAT!! Jeepers! 🙄
LOL! Like its so closely adhered to these days. Keep digging mikee. 🤡
What is the English word for when the proposition assumes a false statement?
It’s not “false dichotomy”, but it’s close.
The media does this all the time.
They start with a false proposition and then ask questions about it.
Trump never said that. Pence is a dunce and proves his lack of reading and critical thinking skills.
If it were up to me, that bastard would be in solitary for life.
Who writes these headlines? They know a vast majority never read past them.
The constitution does not provide for cases where there was massive fraud in an election.
But, there should be provisions for undoing an election which was “won” with massive fraud. That kind of win is was not won legally.
Trump is right about the constitution, and Pence is right, but Pence needs to examine closely what it is that Trump was/is getting at. In fact, the whole country should be listening to the truth being spoken by Trump.
Interfering in an election, or using fraudulent votes in an election, is not how elections should be won. The massive fraud that Twitter and the FBI and the DNC and the left-wing media perpetrated, should have a means for undoing. In courts of law, plaintiffs are allowed recourse for wrongful actions committed by a perpetrator, and the perpetrator does suffer consequences for his illegal actions.
As it stands now, the criminals that stole the 2020 election got away with it, and the plaintiff is suffering the consequences ot the criminal behavior.
The biggest crime in American political history, is the beginning of the end of democracy.
I never believed he was on Trump’s side.
He should have been more clear. He must know by now that if anything he says can be twisted around they will do it.

I’ve read Trump’s statement a half-dozen times and its poor wording does not help.
“A massive fraud of this type and magnitude allows for the termination of all rules, regulations...”
It can easily be interpreted that the fraud perpetrated in 2020 “allows”, i.e. permits termination of the constitution -or- that the fraud perpetrated in 2020 is a perversion and undermines the constitution and laws of the country.
“A Massive Fraud of this type and magnitude allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution.”
He said it, folks. That’s what he said. These are his words.
He did exactly what he was supposed to do...read the results into the record. He had no other power. That was his job. Get over it.
.
Not what you’re looking for, but it’s a false premise.
A straw man argument.
