Rail Workers Call Out Biden For Showing His 'True Colors'

Rail workers are calling out President Joe Biden after he forced the unions to accept the deal, claiming that the president has no concern for the quality of life of the workers.

A week after Congress voted to avoid a railway industry strike, rail workers are warning of the negative consequences Biden’s decision will have.

In an 80-15 vote, Congress voted on three measures relating to rail worker demands, codifying an agreement negotiated by the White House and 12 of the nation’s rail unions.

The director of communications for the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees Division (BMWED), Clark Ballew, said that the union will not forget who had their backs when they fought for paid sick days.

"You can damn well bet that railroaders took note of who stood with us and who failed to support the basic common decency of paid sick days," Ballew said, representing the third largest rail union in the U.S.

The rail union workers cautioned that Biden could face struggles in the next presidential election “because Biden's slowly showing the true colors.”

“I've always known he is only looking for votes, but several unions and members are just now realizing that. If he cared, wanted to show that he cared about the work that we're doing and some of the sacrifices we have had to make, he should have stayed out of this or fought harder,” a rail union worker said.

Exactly right. These idiots know in their gut that Democrat policies are hurting them, but they’ve convinced themselves that voting for the alternative is even worse.

Hey Union Members, simple suggestion, STOP VOTING DEMOCRAT!

Second, STOP electing union leaders that only funnel your dues to DEMOCRATS.

CHANGE your voting habits and your LEADERS ASAP. Otherwise STFU and color.

100 million votes can’t all be wrong. We know some that are simply fine with how things are going currently. 😵

Anyone smart enough should be able to see that in 2022, unison, in 99.999% of cases exist to siphon money and votes to Dems, not to protect their “Brothers and Sisters.”

I don’t know about rail workers, but the IBEW personnel I worked with were overwhelmingly Republicans.
Those in charge of the union were not.
No one ever told me, or anyone I know, who to vote for.

Simple. Railroad workers should stay home anyway. To allow Congress to demand their labor is to become slaves of politicians.

It is obvious the politicians are controlled by the wealthy and don’t care about everyday people.

This is a golden opportunity to begin a national uprising against the wealthy elites that can quickly become a nationwide general strike to allow the people to retake control of their government. Right now, THE PEOPLE DO NOT CONTROL THEIR GOVERNMENT.

If the railroad workers don’t go to work, the railroads will have to capitulate or go out of business.

The wealthy in America can be destroyed in a few weeks if the productive in America refuse to work.

Yes. But what about union leadership. They are probably all democratic. So the union dues went to Biden and in 2016, Hillary. Funny thing is that Hillary lost 2016 and union members is a large reason why (same thing happened in 2020, apparently but that discussion is for another thread).

I predict that within 60 days after implementation of the new contract, supply chain issues will become worse. Why, the employees got generous pay raises retroactive to the end of the last contract? Because the underlying quality of life issues weren’t addressed. Railroads have eliminated about 30% of their work force and to keep the trains running, the remainder are on call 24/7, time off for a doctor’s appointment requires 30 days notice and only Tuesday-Thursday. Missing work for sickness, family emergency, or family events results in penalties with suspension or even dismissal. A recent example was with a co-worker a couple of weeks ago. His son was getting married on a Saturday and his brother, a railroad freight conductor, had to mark off work to attend. He received penalty points that will require him to work non-stop for two months to make up for that single non-sick day off.

There are many employees who have worked ten, fifteen or even twenty years who will wait until the financial benefits of the new contract are in effect and they will put in their papers for discharge or retirement leaving the already understaffed railroads in still worse condition. New hires? Very few will join an organization where six-months of training will bring you into a system where the only time off you can have are the Federal Hours of Service laws. The old song is certainly true for the men and women employed by the US Class 1 railroads: “I’ve been working on the railroad, All the live-long day…”
