Ah, a person who’s never had a real job is gonna tell folks who actually produce value to society what to do.

Oh, forgot, gubmit is FOR those who have no natural abilities.

My question is...what exactly do they want congress to do?

Congress needs to partly deregulate the Rails.

What, exactly, is Congress going to do? Force them to work? Force the railroads to pay more money or whatever it is that the unions want?

Private industry - government needs to stay out.

Yep, that is what they are up to and the dumb bunny GOP will deliver as usual with lame excuses for why they had to be lame.

Yes, this moron and the guy who gave him the job could and should have been more proactive about this looming disaster. I think we can all agree that the last guy in the White House would already have this problem solved.

But this whole thing started in March 2017 and has take this long to manifest itself and come to a head.

And the unions are just as much to blame for it, if not more, than anyone or anything, while that sat by and watched companies cut positions and dumped larger and larger workloads on the folks that weren’t fired.

Most of those guys being senior and looking to retirement. And unlike years past, there weren’t hordes of young men lining up to take a job with the railroads and the crazy pension that goes with it.

In a way he’s right. Congress has been given explicit rights to regulate interstate commerce. It should have been in their court since the beginning. Biden kept playing the unions until after the election. Everything Joe touches turns to shite.

“Buttigieg insists”. Buttigieg is completely unqualified for the job, so the fact that he insists on anything carries no weight at all. It only insinuates a hidden agenda.

I am deeply disturbed that we cannot recognize how fascist our nation has become. We the people do not have a right to force rail-workers not to strike because they have grievances with their employers. The concept that it makes my life harder, even during the holidays, doesn’t give me the right to force people to work at jobs or conditions that they deem unfair.

Frankly, there is another way to transport freight, it’s called trucks. This is not an national ‘emergency’, we are not at war. This is a political and convenience issue, and the Federal Government should stay out.

You can be that 100% of Democrats, who have sucked on the Warren Buffett (Union Pacific railroad) tits, will be all in forcing these poor union guys to loose their leverage in a labor dispute.

“Buttigieg insists congressional intervention to prevent rail strike is ‘best way forward’”

Well, he should know - he is America’s authority (s)
