Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., said before the vote Tuesday that he was wearing the same tie he wore to the wedding of his daughter and her wife.

Hmmm, how does that work? You just scissor or something?

All marriage has been from the beginning of time is the Union of a male and female to bring children into the world by the act of sexual intercourse. Man is the highest of all animal species but all species require male and female. There is no other way. Two homosexual men can’t produce a baby thru anal intercourse and two lesbians are not producing a baby by one strapping on a dildo and penetrating the other.

Same-sex “marriage” is an oxymoron. It does not exist. Call it what it is. Two people of the same sex can not consummate a marriage and can’t bring children into the world by act of procreation. They can have their “Civil Unions” but they will never be married. Homo activists know this and it drives them crazy.

They lumped interracial marriage - which has never been in question

"never" is incorrect. "Not recently" would be. There are probably a lot of folks here on FR who were around when Loving v. Virginia was decided.

You saying two senior citizens past the age of childbearing shouldn’t get married? Why not?

Remember when queers said they just wanted to be left alone in the privacy in own homes?
There is no such thing as gay marriage , it can’t exist. No matter what the government says it doesn’t change reality.

... and if a church speaks out against same sex marriage, said church could be found in violation and have it’s tax exempt status taken away.

I think that part was removed, but it was part of the plan for sure.

The parts of DOMA that allowed states to not recognize marriages that are valid in other states would seem to be clearly unconstitutional since marriage is a power reserved to the states and by the Full Faith and Credit clause, states must recognize marriages contracted in other states.

The bill only applies to couples.

How many senators did Romney knock over to be the first to vote for fags?

Thomas was only pointing out that, in his opinion, the marriage decisions could be revisited because they depended on similar flawed justification as Roe. He didn’t disagree with the outcomes only saying the court might want to look at new avenues of legal theory in future cases on those matters. The majority rejected his idea and went to great lengths to say we’re only shooting down Roe because it uniquely leads to the death of a human being.

Go back and read then opinions on the marriage case and the same point is made but now suddenly it’s something to panic about because Roe was ended.

“ Thomas was only pointing out that, in his opinion, the marriage decisions could be revisited because they depended on similar flawed justification as Roe”

I understand, but it wasn’t prudent to discuss that. His comment had no effect on the Dobbs decision, there was no need to even raise the point. It simply gave ammunition and momentum to the Dems in the election and now, to pass the anti-Christian “marriage” law

Of course they linked inter-racial marriage with perverted unnatural "marriage".

If you're against the bill, obviously you are a racist against inter-racial marriage. Nothing about perversion.

So, if a church now refuses to recognize or conduct a perverted "marriage", it would be deemed illegal and racist.

Y’all are feeding yourselves lies to find reasons to be outraged. What I read, the bill as amended does not recognize polygamy or require tax exempt religious organizations to provide marriage services. The “persecution” is all in your head. The bill itself specifically targets government officials in their roles.

Republicans Roy Blunt, Richard Burr, Shelley Moore Capito, Susan Collins, Joni Ernst, Cynthia Lummis, Lisa Murkowski, Rob Portman, Mitt Romney, Dan Sullivan, Thom Tillis and Todd Young voted for the bill.

What about respect for Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, Bahai, etc, etc, etc.? This country was founded on the Old and New Testaments and its principals and laws so derived.

From what I’ve been told (haven’t researched personally) the purpose of this legislation is to force church’s to marry and to force business’ to “bake the cake” . If true, it’s awful.

It’s not true. The bill explicitly gives exceptions to churches and other religious organizations. Don’t buy into hysteria.
