House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy has warned his fellow Republicans not to “play games” by opposing his bid for House speaker — saying division in the conference could lead to Democrats electing the chamber’s next leader even though they will be the minority.
Five House Republicans have so far come out publicly against McCarthy (R-Calif.), who can’t afford many defections among the narrow GOP majority to win the 218 votes he needs to be elected speaker.
Republicans won at least 221 House seats in the Nov. 8 midterm elections, but the entire Democratic caucus is expected to vote against McCarthy, making his margin dangerously thin.
One California House race where GOP candidate John Duarte leads has yet to be called.

No. Not “Big Tech” Jim Jordan. Chip Roy.

I guess we can add “Another California Bully” to his list of skills.

Maybe he and his leadership team might retire and let house republicans pick new folks to lead them in January?

You believe he could rally the necessary votes? And since the majority is slim, there will be times Jordan will have to compromise effectively making him the next Boehner or Ryan.

Well, I hope they don’t play games. I hope they go for the
throat of this guy’s attempt to set himself above the true
believers in the Constitution.

Looks like some worry.
Unliek McConnell who welcomed the challenge, “I don’t own this job. Anybody in the conference is certainly entitled to challenge me."

Even if he wins, conservatives should make him cut a deal for the votes, otherwise we get NOTHING.

Would you rather have a Democrat as Speaker or McCarthy? That is the question that’s live right now.

the entire Democratic caucus is expected to vote against McCarthy, making his margin dangerously thin. Bullshit. He's a RINO so they'll 'cross the aisle' to save his sorry azz and lock out any potential MAGA from leadership.

even if it resulted in the country collapsing. That sounds like a plus to me.

Maybe Mccarthy should cut a deal with the Freedom Caucus and actually listen to conservatives.

Seriously, a massive meteor taking out the Capitol during a full, joint session of Congress (with a small number of conservatives absent) would cure a lot of ills, even if it resulted in the country collapsing. Indeed. I've said so for quite some time.
If someone were to nuke washington during a state of the union address, my only qustion would be, "Where do I send the Thank You card?"

Jim Jordan? He'd be the best choice, but there are way too many demopublicans for that to happen.
