Yesterday a real information bomb exploded. Russian billionaire, Putin's authorized person and founder of ''PMC Wagner Group'' Yevgeny Prigozhin made a sensational statement. In an interview with journalists from the Finnish newspaper 'Helsingin Sanomat', Yevgeny Prigozhin said that many professional army men from NATO countries, including the US Marine general are fighting on the Side of PMC Wagner Group. At the same time, He also stated that a large number of Finnish citizens are fighting in the so-called British battalion as part of the PMC Wagner Group, the commander of which is a US citizen - retired U.S. Marine Corps general. It should be noted that Yevgeny Prigozhin rarely makes such sensational statements, especially for the Western media. Hardly anyone doubts that foreigners, including Americans, are present in PMC Wagner Group. In any case, it is no secret that a large number of volunteers from all over the world have been fighting in the Donbass for all these eight years on the side of the Russians.
Its not exactly “real world” experience.
Both sides are fighting a very constrained war, limited by circumstances that wont apply in another situation. Its telling that both sides have resorted to, on the whole, to trench warfare and prolonged bombardment, because this is what they can do given limited resources. This is therefore a very special case of modern war.
The Ukrainians have little to no tac air and their interdiction capability is short ranged and limited in volume of fire. This lets the Russians off the hook in a major way.
The Ukrainians have a very limited capability for operational maneuver, lacking the resources Nato or the US can bring. The Russians still seem to be totally incapable of it.
The Ukrainians have very little modern artillery. What they have received has done extremely well, but a Nato force of equivalent size would be equipped with 5-10x the firepower. The Russians have seen the prolonged attrition that a few tubes of modern artillery can bring, but not the shock of the same arriving all at once.
Neither side is facing modern tanks. Neither side is facing modern SEAD. Neither side is facing modern helicopter-atgm attacks.
The Nato charter doesnt specifically name the Soviet Union. Of course everyone knew what they meant at the time, but even so.
It is interesting reading.

The only “enemy” reference is to members being subjected to “armed attack” or being “threatened”. One can, of course, drive a truck through all those loopholes.
There is India, and there is India. They have a free press over there and the range of opinion is very broad. Far more so than the US MSM, which is to India’s credit.
But you will get every species of off-the wall stuff out of India, with no context. So YMMV as to what truth value is in it, or how significant it is to Indian opinion. Not many filters there.
On the other hand, India was always a prime target for Soviet “agents of influence” and disinfo operations; which are well covered by, say, Mitrokhin. Russia’s institutional systems and operations on that score are inherited from the Soviets.
I would be willing to bet that is the plan, to drain us so when china attacks, we aint got the stuff to maintain combat
