One-third said Thanksgiving has been impacted by inflation, a survey from The Economist/YouGov found.

According to the survey, the plans of 34 percent of Americans have been affected by price increases. This includes a plurality of Republicans (43 percent), one-third of Democrats (33 percent), and over a quarter of independents (27 percent) who said the same.

The other 2-thirds surveyed didn’t have to buy the groceries.

2/3 do not remember what they paid last year or don’t eat anything special for the holiday.

The other two-thirds are eating at their parents house and not chipping in.

Or at their conservative family members homes where they demanded political discussions be banned but whose food they are happy to eat.

I haven’t done a “numbers” survey but in my close and extended
families and circle of friends everyone is in a good mood and giving thanks for many blessings today!

May it be the same for you!

Another 1/3 are on welfare and don’t notice what stuff costs, and 1/3 have government jobs and don’t care what stuff costs.

So the other two thirds are just stupid?
Of course inflation effects the price of a thanksgiving dinner. Who would deny that?

Oh, well...2/3rds say its not, so....

Why do so many accept that Truth can be defined by polls?

You’re right about 2/3 didn’t have to buy their groceries. They got their turkeys free at the drive thru food banks. If you need to raise your blood pressure, do a search on youtube for “food band hauls”. You’ll find people complaining their pistachios aren’t shelled, throwing non-kosher food in the garbage instead of sharing and people bragging they use food banks so they can afford weekly seafood feasts.

I calculated what our normal $30 dinner would cost today and it worked out to 33% more. I know our income hasn’t kept up with food prices much less anything else. We played it simple with no one coming over so the bare minimum side dishes. Refused to play the fake turkey shortage so pulled a chicken out of the freezer (saved the raw wings for a future batch of hot wings) and scrounged around for waaay less pecans than called for in a pecan pie and dug around the drawer for a spoon small enough to dig the yolks out of teeny tiny “large” eggs for deviled eggs. But it was all good and we stuffed ourselves.

We beat the higher cost by cutting our dishes by 1/3.

The other demonrats are protesting at Plymouth Rock not having a clue who the Pilgrims were or why they left England. Also, not knowing there were twice as many Indians as Pilgrims at the first thanksgiving for a good harvest.

Yes soup isn’t much of a Thanksgiving dinner.

After a day of wrapping up the yardwork season, I enjoyed a nice salad with creamy french, cauliflower with a slice of colby jack melted on top, a turkey burger on a Wawa soft pretzel cut in half with yellow mustard, lettuce and dill pickle.

Driving 6 hours tomorrow to visit our 4, their kids with grand babies and even great grand babies. Stay the weekend, head back on Monday or Tuesday.
There’s venison and garden veggies, local apples. It’ll be fun.

BTW my Turkey is in the freezer. I’m thinking prime rib for Christmas. That bird might be a January happening.
