Maryland's outgoing Republican Gov. Larry Hogan is laying the groundwork to challenge former President Donald Trump for the Republican nomination.
Trump was first to officially jump into the 2024 race - doing so last Tuesday from Mar-a-Lago, a week after his party suffered a disappointing midterm result.
But Hogan - from the moderate, anti-MAGA wing of the party - visited the key early caucus and swing state of Nevada last weekend, to address the annual Republican Jewish Coalition conference.
The Washington Examiner reported Wednesday that he's also set up a series of meetings with donors and grassroots activists after Thanksgiving.
And will launch a PAC called 'A Better Path Forward' in Annapolis, Maryland's capital, next week.

Larry Hogan vs. Trump.
LOL. That should be a fun debate
Media today is a mechanism for societal destruction.
As most of us agree, actual journalism today is dead.
Why it is even still taught today in academia is mind numbing.
‘Journalism’s’ new motto today is that which Stalin of old once said:
‘Paper will put up with anything that is written on it.’
All that matters to them is keeping us distracted, fomenting narratives, and keeping the populace divided.
The Washington Examiner reported Wednesday that he’s also set up a series of meetings with donors and grassroots activists after Thanksgiving.
And will launch a PAC called ‘A Better Path Forward’ in Annapolis, Maryland’s capital, next week.
So I guess he’s looking for new funding sources now that ftx dried up?
Another Martin O’Malley.
Another gov from MD who thinks he has any chance of getting more than 2% of the primary vote.
Who?
He won’t even do well in maryland.
How did his “better path forward” work out for his state as Governor?
I’ll have to look into next week’s launch of this PAC. If it is a public event, it may be worth FReeping.
Ok, so now we are looking at:
Trump
DeSantis *
Haley
Pence
Hogan
Hutchison
Pompeo
* for DeSantis, as I am not sure he’d run.
Which of these can break double digits with 7+ candidates?
Trump starts out with 40%
Maybe someone else who catches fire could compete in New Hampshire. I don’t see anyone coming close in South Caroline (certainly not Haley!), Iowa, or Nevada.
LOL. He won’t even get 0.5% of the vote in Maryland.
‘A Better Path Forward’???
LOL
That is plagiarism... but, WTF ever
A buddy plays in Irish pick up bands. O’Malley is a frequent participant. My friend can’t stand his politics but he’s pretty impressed about one thing.
When someone new comes to play, he just introduces himself as Marty and doesn’t tell him he’s the former governor.
all about raking in campaign funds. He has no chance in hell, and he is well aware of it.
Hogan is a fat bladder of pus and hot air, a traitor to his country, and an obese bloated toad. I am very sad that Cox was not be elected his replacement. I have no doubt that voter fraud was at least partially responsible, as well as very low IQ voters who vote for simplistic things like skin color rather than important issues. They voted for a commie bigot, same as in other large cities.
That's like Zelensky running for the Republican nomination. Hogan will lose much worse than Liz Chaney did.
Chuckle.
Mitt Romney without the dog on the roof of his car.
.
Kasich must be shaking in his boots.
.
The Dems, who have become the party of black and Hispanic women, need to run another old white guy because only he can manage to steal another election.
Not a snowball’s chance in you-know-where.
