The Mercers, who were among Trump's major benefactors during his first run for president in 2016, are distancing themselves from the former commander in chief's latest White House bid. Federal Election Commission records indicate that after spending millions to help get Trump elected in 2016, both Mercers have largely cut back their support.
GOP megadonors Robert Mercer and Rebekah Mercer have no current plans to help former President Donald Trump's 2024 campaign for the White House, according to people familiar with the matter.
The Mercers, a father and daughter who were among Trump's major benefactors during his first run for president in 2016, are distancing themselves from the ex-president's third White House bid and cutting back their overall campaign fundraising, these people said.

I thought it would be a good idea to post the attacks by the Mercers.
As the 2024 campaign unfolds we will need to remember who are our friends and who are our enemies.
It’s funny how the sh*theads at NBC are always just so full of good news for Americans. Sarc/
I don’t have a problem with this.
There are primaries for a reason.
The rest of us can chip in and show support (as I did) until Trump and the rest of us can prove it out.
The Mercer’s have been very helpful and supportive.
Trump is his own mega donor
CNBC is so happy to report former Trump donors are being driven off the field.
The maximum donation an individual can make to a presidential candidate is $2800.
Oh, gee! I don’t have any plans for political donations in 2024, either. I didn’t know we were supposed to plan things that far in advance. Is that something like Christmas decorations, you have to have them up for Thanksgiving?
What a non-story.
I think Trump will win the primary, but lose the general.
We need a certain number of independents and women.
I’ll vote for him in the general, but I don’t think we’ll get enough of the flip floppers.
Iirc the Mercers supported Ted Cruz in the 2016 primary, then came over to Trump.
I believe MAGA will stay home in 2024 if Trump is not running for President. Guess the billionaires don’t care about the country either since I bet the majority are tied someway or somehow to the CCP.
No Republican candidate will become POTUS unless approved by the Deep State.

Re: 3 - Agreed regarding primaries. That where this will get settled.
Times change. Mercer is betting Trump goes down. if he is wrong, look forward to a big reconciliation
Exactly.
Trump opponents are always newsworthy. Trump supporters aren’t newsworthy.
Re: 11 - Good grief. Biden is a doddering 80 year old man. He’s misspoke so many times and gotten confused in his surroundings that he needs aides to guide him through even the most mundane public appearances.
And you’re going to put up for proof regarding voter fraud something that Biden said in error?
Why does Trump need benefactors?
“I think Trump will win the primary, but lose the general.”
I believe the only way he could lose the general will be because of democratic party election fraud. They’re going to double down on what they did in 2020.

To be fair to the Mercers, Mr Trump is sitting on a pile of campaign cash, which he did not use to help the GOP candidates to do better in 11/22. He did fly in to do some rallies, but those were mostly for his vanity than getting a win.
I voted for Trump in 2016 & 2020 because of MAGA, not because I liked him as a candidate. Now, I wish he would go away.
Makes one wonder why they feel the need to announce this to the world. People are exposing themselves for the integrity-challenge people that they really are. Who in the world would ever trust people like this after they have stabbed others in the back, lied, cheated, on and on. We see it and we can’t un-see it. I wouldn’t buy products from these people or associate with them in any way. Yuck!
When you post something from CNBC, you need to be aware how they take a fact and stretch it into a dozen lies and half-truths.
I guarantee you the Mercers are not going to tell some sclok from CNBC that they’re “distancing themselves” from Trump or have no intention of donating to any PAC supporting him.
If anything, the Mercers likely told CNBC they have nothing to say on the subject.
