In the 70s they were harping on “Global Cooling.” I remember a Fortune magazine cover on the topic. I haven’t paid attention to “Global Warming” since.
I don’t know what’s worse: Evil demented “scientists” who put forward this crap, or the stupid people who believe it (some of which are unfortunately in positions of power to affect those who don’t).
During the most recent Ice Age the sea levels were about 400 ft lower. The Ice Age lasted 60,000 years. Geologically….the ice age is recent, and we are still moving out of it. It’s going to get warmer.
Yep. If they believe this is imminent, they would be ordering the mandatory evacuation of all beach front properties.
Did they waste money on this? They should have dusted off the same study (same result) from 1970, 1980, 1990, etc. to try trick people with.
The headline calls it sea level rise. The story calls it shore erosion.
I don’t believe this nonsense but Hawaii is the biggest tourist rip-off on Earth. If Hawaii is losing its beaches, it could save tourist-suckers billions of dollars they now throw away going there. Locals hate tourists and only tolerate them out of greed.
People should never forget Hawaii put tourists in jail and fined them for walking on the beach during the “scamdemic” lockdowns.
They used the Covid fraud to FURTHER victimize visitors whose money keeps Hawaii afloat financially.
That demonstrates the level of hatred of outsiders widespread on those islands.
The most important thing would be the demolition of Obama’s house. We certainly do not want him in any danger from a sudden sea level rise.
Someone should tell tech oligarch Marc Zuckerturd that he might soon be “under water” on all that real estate he bought in Hawaii. Same goes for King Obama who bought that seaside estate on Martha’s Vineyard.
Even worse, we all paying enormous sums to all the experts for their expertise. Millions of people are making a pampered living off this scam. Yes, millions when you count all the windmill, solar and EV companies as well as all the government t labs and university “researchers.”
People don’t realize the enormous size of this “industry.” It might now be the biggest industry in the world.
It operates just like all the do-gooders working to end homelessness. If they actually cure the problem, they are out of work. So they just keep yammering about it , jet off to exotic locales for endless “COP” conferences, and keep everybody alarmed. It’s the biggest racket in the history of mankind.
The city council is being played like the bunch of rubes that they are.
I wonder if they are willing to hear from a geoligist that the landmass of Hawaii has been expanding for 50,000 years. It expanded 543 acres from 1983 to 2002.

When “superstorm” What’s-Her-Name flooded the NYC subways, one of the talking heads was interviewing Cuomo and said something about “ New Amsterdam.” It went right over Cuomo’s head.

Tell this jerk to prove it with photographic evidence. Making policy changes based on hysteria may be in vogue these days, but it’s time to demand extraordinary proof when extraordinary claims are made.
So very true. Watched a PBS program (might have been Nova) that discussed the formation of the Swiss Alps. It described incredible actions of our planet - continental shifts, landmass moving on top of other, glaciers, etc. None of these items having been caused by humans. None of these items having any chance of controlled by humans either.
Our planet is going to continue to change. We may or may not see drastic changes in our lifetime. It is what it is.
