It’s really pathetic. L.A. voters had a clear choice between Bass (a hack career politician who offered little more than “black girl magic” and a promise to double down on the failed leftist policies that destroyed the city in the first place) and Rick Caruso (a smart, formerly Republican business guy who at least offered some willingness and ability to try to clean up that benighted town). And, of course, in their infinite wisdom L.A. voters chose the hack career politician. And they will be severely punished for it over the next four years. But there is no clearer example of voters getting the leader they deserve.
She may provide temporary shelter that the homeless can cycle in and out of, but that's about it.
What should happen is that large tent cities should be built out in the desert. They need to make it illegal to be a vagrant, and ship the homeless out to these remote tent cities.
The cities can be fully staffed and the homeless can't leave until they have cleaned up, gotten a job, and found a place to stay that they can afford.
Keeping the homeless in the city near "services" is just enabling more and more homelessness.
Screw the non-profits. If they want to help, then they can staff up the remote tent cities and truly help the homeless to get their lives back together and headed for success.

The sad thing is that if all that he did ended up having little effect, then either the vote was rigged in LA or the Dems in LA are really, really stupid.

In LA I doubt that voting has anything to do with it.

LA will get everything it richly deserves with the clown show it just elected.
All the Democrat Mayors bluster the same empty promises. It’s what they do. They’ll fund some small podunk shack somewhere and call it a homeless shelter pilot project and then any time a reporter asks what they did, they’ll point to that quite non-descriptively.
And when pushed by bad polling or pushing they resort to rent control, empty housing fines for the owners or massive tax increases. All of which does nothing but to further exacerbate the problem.
most homelessness is because of drugs, alcohol and, mental instability.
take the money you are going to spend to house the antisocial and build a mental health facility.
the rest of them you can jail and put them on a public work crew. pick up trash, clear vacant lots, clean the canals, work in the mental hospitals as janitorial staff.

It is hard to imagine, how it can go any worse.
But Karen is talented.

Look to her trying to confiscate the homes people have had to walk away from and stick homeless and illegals in them.
Homes that taxpayers have been working all their lives to own, taking care of the yard, repairs, paying taxes, building relationships with like minded families and children but the democrats have destroyed the middle class and want to create a utopia for homeless criminals and destroy all that is good for the American working class.
