ORLANDO – Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida received a hero’s welcome on Tuesday night, as he addressed an audience of leading Republican minutes before former President Donald Trump announced he was launching a 2024 White House bid.
DeSantis, who last week won a landside re-election victory for a second term steering Florida, garnered a standing ovation from the audience as he delivered a keynote conversation at the Republican Governors Association’s winter meeting in Orlando, according to multiple sources in the room.
According to one source, DeSantis spotlighted his "impressive re-election campaign" and how he won Maimi-Dade County, connecting with Hispanic voters.
Another source told Fox News that governor received an "enthusiastic" response as he "recapped the Florida blueprint and the path to winning Hispanics, women, and independents."
And a third source added that the speech received a very warm reception from an audience that is energized about the possibilities of taking the DeSantis model and applying it to battleground states across the country.

” I am concerned about Trump’s age, though.”
Look at Trump tonight and compare him with Brandon today.
No comparison. Trump looked healthy and had all his faculties vs Brandon’s pale , incompetent image.
Trump is a Statesman, Brandon is a stale, stupid sisyphus.
They only support DeSantis as a means of stopping Trump--and if he succeeds, they'll turn on him. Fox want someone like Jeb! or Pence.

Why wouldn’t Desantis get a standing O. Deserves it
.
Pence received a Standing O, too
From Sean Hannity
.
.
DeSantis beat Charlie Crist.
Crist said a week or three before the Election: Joe Biden is Ageless, He’s Timeless.
Crist said crazy things, and repeated them.
.
Paul Ryan and Fox have a bit of TDS going on. They so want a fight to drive people away from Trump.
“I just think that it will be Trump/Tulsi in 2024”
You gotta be kidding. Never in a million years.
Florida has become even more important with population growth and larger electoral votes than 2020.
All I know for sure it won’t be Trump/Pence in 2024. Tulsi has more charisma than Pence. And it takes away the extreme label. But you are right, Tulsi is unlikely to be on the ticket.
Interesting. I wasn’t aware of that.
Yep.
“So? People can like both men. This trying to start an inner party battle is disgusting.”
The people who want to see Trump and Desantis go after each other are: Media, Uniparty, Globalists, Socialists, Democrats, GOPe, and of course Mitch the Bitch McConnell.
Agreed, why do you think Trump is doing it already?
Ballot access isn't automatic, and had timelines. Been a long time since Perot's volunteers put something like that together.
Do you think another existing party with ballot access would embrace him in the cycle?
I don’t they’re pushing DeSantis for any other reason than to split conservatives/Republicans and keep Democrats in power.
DeSantis was in Congress for 6 years. He doesn’t need to anymore experience in Washington. He’s proven himself more than capable of being POTUS.
DeSantis would be insane to accept the VP position under anyone.
Well, it's certainly possible for two people to compete for the nomination without it getting terminally nasty. Been done before in every Presidential election I can remember.
Of course Fox did.
That’s why I quite watching Fox in 2020 after they cut away from the election cutting it short...
Highly recommend one of the alternatives such as Real America’s Voice who covered the entire day—good interviews and insight. RSBN was broadcasting too and maybe NewsMax?
