Kurt used to be on here a lot, anyone know if he still does?

Anyhow, a terrific analysis

Got a text from the Trump organization saying he is preparing his announcement.

I don’t know about this one, especially in the middle of Walker’s runoff.

When Carvelle and the other libs, along with usual RINO cankers, tell me Trump has to go for the good of the party, I make it a point to cling closer to him. After all, those warts are not speaking for our benefit out of the goodness of their hearts.

Speaking of that, it seems that lately Victor Davis Hanson’s podcasts mirror a LOT of the discussion on FR.

Not allowed. His record: he is the president who gave us mail in ballots, masking, USSR style travel restrictions.. how many checks to pay how many people to stay home.
Trump vax and mail is n ballots are the keys to perpetuate dem control.

This is an outstanding piece. Col Schlichter remains one of the best contemporary conservative writers.

Let’s have a primary and decide! ...he should be vetted by the people. A primary sharpens the eventual winner while testing all the candidates. Trump has to answer some tough questions. What has he learned from his mistakes? Will he screw up personnel again? Does he intend to subject America to years more of Trump drama, and what makes him think voters want that again? What, exactly, is his plan to win key states like Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Michigan in 2024 (It’s a fair question to ask DeSantis and any other aspirants too)? Here’s the thing – I do not see a clear path for Trump to get to 270 electoral votes in the general as of today, though that can change quickly, so that’s the big question he and every other candidate has got to answer because we cannot afford another term of these communist bastards wrecking our country.

For the record, I'm in the "Trump's Achilles is his HR skills, and they limit MAGA." I'm not against the man...I want him to go to HR Rehab and fix his problem.

But yes...primaries to a candidate are like heat and pressure to coal on the way to becoming a diamond. Let the games begin!

You who want Trump gone.. dropped out... You want to give the dirty dem and dirty media and the corrupt government and corrupt bidens.. the victory!? You want them to have the belief they got him out!?

You know what happens if you do get Trump out.. a victory for the enemy just gives them juice and pull, to keep at it... they want control and they will not stop till they get it..
Trump was standing in their way, preventing them from taking our freedoms.. from taking our guns... You take Trump out and it’s all over!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No, no one else will work in this war.. you have to win this or you have already lost the next chapter... which would start immediately.
Get some sense into your heads.... ya do NOT surrender when you have the best weapon for victory!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I do not care if you like him or not... I do not care if you think all the wrong things to end whatever is getting to you.. you have not reached the point that Trump has been living in for these years. He did not quit on you.. don’t quit on Trump!

And then there are the Democrats. They love the idea of Trump 3.0 because they know how to beat him. They adore the idea of making this a fight over the remaining voters who might vote for him; they have already banked at least 45% of the electorate who never, ever will vote for him. That’s why you see the Twitter bots, those 22-follower accounts that have been repurposed from accusing us of loving Putin, swarming any conservative who dares criticize the ex-president. The Democrats want him to run.

I think this is probably right.

The article is deductive, and presents observations to support a conclusion. The concluding paragraphs of the excellent article...

If he does not run, he should either bow out because he wants to bow out, or he should be tossed out by Republican primary voters at the ballot box. If he gets the GOP nomination, everyone should support him in the general. If you are a Nomination Denier, go subscribe to the Dispatch.

Trump will probably announce 2024 soon, and then we will see if his support is wide and deep or wide and shallow. But regardless, the GOP is going to have to answer the Trump question sooner rather than later.

What’s so terrific about it?
The Godzilla to Trump’s King Kong is Ron DeSantis …
Just another screed pushing DeSantis and denying fraud—the word “fraud” appears absolutely nowhere and implying that the current system is actually legitimate.

Repealing the 19th is a non-starter.

Here is an excellent read on how the Women’s Rights movement was from its start, a Maoist movement. Friend recommended it to me after Tuesday night. The country is finished, and the Commie girls at NOW started the ball rolling.

You know if the part of the Republican party that didn’t like Trump worked to get Republicans elected instead of trying to take down Trump the party might win. Trump is the only one doing the work and then you complain? MAGA should never compromise with the Repukes in the party. If our candidates don’t win MAGA should sit out. The fact that this didn’t happen in Georgia is a huge sign to the elites that MAGA will always show up but the establishment types will only show up for establishment types of candidate. Stop voting for thr lesser of two evils!

I want to address the constant drivel about Trump backing candidates that were not any good. Trump backed candidates that were normal people with normal jobs, not professional politicians. That’s exactly what our forefathers planned for us so go trash the forefathers.

As to Trump being a politician that would mean he received remuneration which we all know he did not.

I don’t want DeSantis trashed, I want him to run in 2028. If he runs this time and Trump destroys him so be it, it merely means he wasn’t smart enough to be president.

Right now I’m sick of the whole thing and disgusted that Kurt is another hero who disappoints. A man who is unable to recognize loyalty and the need for loyalty to exist is not worth admiration.

Let’s have a primary and decide! Right now, the polls say he (TRUMP) is the number-one choice for Republicans.

Yep, let the primary decide.

It’s an excellent article. Kurt’s points are valid. For all the good Trump has done, he is his own worst enemy and love him or hate him, many in the country are tired of him. He’s going to have to answer a lot of questions about what he would do differently this time around. That said, those reflexively pointing to DeSantis as the answer need to gather some perspective. Nobody knows how DS will play on the National stage and there is no evidence he can attract votes in the Midwest like Trump can.

Ultimately, the point is moot until the GOP figures out how to win elections with the current VBM scheme. Does anyone have any confidence that we can win MI, PA, GA or AZ nationally? They all stood around and did nothing. Trump whined for 2 years but continued to back McDaniel. The GOP as a whole stuck their heads in the sand thinking things were so bad nationally that it wouldn’t matter, in addition to those who were just fine looking the other way as a convenient excuse to blame Trump.
