Michigan Republican Party blames election losses on Tudor Dixon, Trump

Less than 48 hours after polls closed and Democrats emerged from the midterm election poised to take control of every branch of state government, the Michigan Republican Party released a scathing memo blaming their electoral failures largely on Tudor Dixon, her campaign and former president Donald Trump.

There’s a forest of pointing fingers emerging as Republicans reckon with a total loss of power at the state level, and the party provided their own suggestions looking to the top of the ticket. Paul Cordes, the party’s chief of staff, wrote Dixon’s weak performance as a gubernatorial candidate — Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer won by 11 percentage points — paired with the motivation brought by abortion access and Proposal 3 doomed the party heading into the general election.

“The hole created by Tudor at the top of the ticket was too much to overcome,” Cordes said.

Dixon posted the memo publicly on social media, writing on Facebook “this is the perfect example of what is wrong with the Michigan Republican Party” and calling for “fresh leadership.”

She singled out Cordes and the party’s co-chairs, Ron Weiser and Meshawn Maddock in particular, writing they “all refuse to take ownership for their own failures. It’s easy to come out and point fingers now, but the truth is they fought against me every step of the way and put the entire ticket at risk.”

Maddock did not return a request for comment on the memo.

At the heart of the memo’s blame is money. They lament that Dixon’s campaign and the party both had no money to counter Whitmer’s record-shattering fundraising — largely because of Trump.

Tudor Dixion wasn’t a strong candidate imo, no one knew who this person was and was not motivated to support her.

The Michigan Republican Party is in bed with the Michigan Democrat Party.

I don't want to hear ONE WORD from those political whores.

It is their state. They have allowed corruption to run unchecked and they have been less than helpful in investigating fraudulent voting in 2020.

So it is all Trump’s fault.

Couldn’t be the massive ballot dumps in Detroit, could it?
Fraud put Gretchen back in, not Trump, not Tudor. If they had a better candidate, they’d have put him or her in in the primary.

Ho hum, the Michigan Republican party kind of strikes me as rather useless to begin with, so this is likely far more on them themselves as opposed to Trump.

I live in Michigan. Michigan Republicans in Lansing hate Trump, and totally rolled over on the 2020 election, in which there was massive fraud. They did NOTHING to actually help Dixon. McConnell also steered money away from Michigan. Not to mention Whitmer had $$$$$ to spend on advertising; it was a 24/7 series of attack ads going after Dixon. I thought Dixon was very strong at the debates, but sadly most people can’t be bothered to watch them. Really looking forward to Shitmer’s next term. NOT!

Michigan started industrial scale vote rigging in 2018, after Hillary lost the state in 2016.

They perfected it in 2020, and the 2022 Michigan Steal was a walk in the park.

The Michigan Republicans collude with the Michigan Democrats.

The "tell" was when the Michigan legislature didn't invite True The Vote for a 2000 Mules show-and-tell.

Did you like the way the Michigan Pubbies deliberately coughed up CD-3 to the Democrat to spite Trump?

No.

They have the Michigan Steal down pat.

They were much more pro-active after 2016 than the other two states, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania.

The GOPe open themselves to petition challenge knocking out the #1 and #2 nominee picks.

Then the GOPe picked Tudor Dixon to run.

Let’s take a brief inventory of Tudor Dixon shall we.

Tudor Dixon: a late entry elitist-named pro-life no exception for rape and incest in a post-Roe-overturn world nobody trust fund horror film actress who took zero advantage of free TV and radio interview time leading up to the election.

I knew it was over when I heard her name and looked at my watch.

The GOPe incompetence is so bad you wonder if someone paid for it.
