New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) is projected to defeat Republican nominee Lee Zeldin and win her first full term in the governor’s mansion.
NBC News and ABC News called the race for Hochul shortly after 11 p.m. E.T.
Headed into Election Day, Hochul was leading Zeldin, a Trump-endorsed congressional lawmaker, by just a few points. The race was largely seen as a toss-up in the final stretch.
Hochul was the lieutenant governor under former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D), who stepped down last fall amid allegations of sexual harassment and accusations he covered up nursing home deaths during the pandemic.
When she filled Cuomo’s spot, Hochul became the state’s first female governor.
Her reelection campaign got off to a rocky start after the April resignation of Lt. Gov. Brian Benjamin (D), who was charged by the FBI in a corruption scandal.
Hochul spent her first year as governor tackling a number of issues, including expanding access to reproductive health care over the spring as the Supreme Court was poised to overturn the constitutional right to abortion.
She also signed into law over the summer major gun control legislation, bolstering restrictions on the permitting process for concealed carry firearms.

NY is a one-party state, much like California, or the former East Germany. The rules favor the ruling Party
I believe Suffolk Co. had technical problems and they haven't reported yet.
And they have about 500K votes and it's Zeldin's home county and very Trumpy.
Suffolk County has counted exactly zero ballots in the New York governor's race so far because, get this, the WiFi won't work.
Right now Zeldin is not conceding.
Facebook runs the elections now.
Kari Lake is behind by similar numbers.
How insane is this: She ran on abortion being banned - which it is not in New York - while at the same time basically legalizing rape - rape and you’re out the same day no bail.

New Yorkers have no sense of self preservation. I don’t want to hear about crime in New York. New Yorkers gave their elite their thumbs up to literally kill them. So be it.

So we find out that the majority of New York voters are actually comfortable with the record setting high crime Hochul and the democrats have brought them.
All polls are always way off.
Now I can’t listen to radio talk podcasts for the next year...it will all BS poll and fake exit poll data recrimination by the same idiots that told me it would be a major red wave. Because of the “polls” of course.
