Scott (my namesake I guess) is no fireball and he sure doesn’t get the juices flowing…but
Anyone but McConnell, Thune or Linda.

We haven’t had a leader from a Red State since Neut. McConnell is from Kentucky.
To: Lower Deck

“If he’s ousted as Majority Leader, expect him to become a sort of back room saboteur.”
If he is ousted Mitch will likely resign. He has been leader of the party too long to be just a regular Senator. The reason he is still in the Senate at his age is the rush that comes the from power of controlling the Republicans in the Senate and making deals with the Democrats. Take the power away, and the job is no fun.
Romney, Murkowski, and Collins derive power from being able to play the spoiler. If Mitch loses the job of leader and stays to play the spoiler, he shares that power, he doesn’t have full control. Mitch likes being the supreme authority, not being part of a small team.
Should Mitch resign, Kentucky law says his party gives the governor three names from which to pick a replacement. The governor of Kentucky is currently a Democrat so he will choose the one of the three names the GOP leaders give him that appears to be most beatable in the next election cycle.
Rick Scott probably can’t assemble enough votes of Republican Senators to dethrone Mitch, just as McCarthy likely cannot be dethroned. In 2018 Jim Jordan ran against McCarthy for House minority leader when Paul Ryan resigned. McCarthy, who represented the establishment, won by a vote of 159-43. The truth is, establishment RINO’s are still the majority.

No support for the signer of the Florida Red Flag Gun Confiscation law from me.
If Senator Paul or Kennedy would take it from the
CCP husband, I would be all in.
Description of the Florida law workings Preparing for a Risk Protection Order Hearing. During a hearing to request a risk protection order, the court will need to be provided with evidence that the individual whom you are hoping to seize weapons from has committed one or more of the following acts within the last year"
- Attempted or threatened suicide with a gun
- Attempted or threatened violence to another person with a gun
- Stalked someone
- Violated a protective order
- Acquired a gun or ammunition
Evidence could also include documentation of mental illness or a past conviction for domestic violence. A written testimony from a respondent’s family or household member or oral testimony given under oath would also be accepted. A judge will not issue the final order until clear evidence is provided that the individual poses a significant risk of danger to themselves or others by owning a gun.(Notice the ability to avoid due process ... friggin' rinos)

Rick Scott is better than McConnell and John Thune (McConnell's protege)
I know nothing about Scott - how much better than McConnell will he be? I've seen posts in FR dismissing Scott as something of a dummy.
To: cotton1706
No, Scott is the worst. He is no more conservative than Mitch, but Scott is a complete moron. He has no political sense, and looks dumb whenever he talks.
