The developer for a major offshore wind project in Massachusetts has asked state regulators to pause review of the contract for one month, saying that global price hikes, inflation and supply chain shortages are disrupting the plan. The Commonwealth Wind project, which would supply 1,200 megawatts of offshore wind power starting in 2028, “is no longer viable and would not be able to move forward” under the terms of contract, according to a motion recently filed by the developer.

Every Thanksgiving I drive to my brother’s house. And every year the HUGE windmill near Route 3 going to the Cape is “off” that is, not spinning.

I wonder if it EVER spins to produce energy.

What is the point of a windmill if it isn’t constantly producing energy?

Right. What little good is in green energy was ruined by a refusal to do the math. Hey, if one windmill can provide enough electricity for a small farmhouse in South Dakota, then a thousand windmills should be able to power all of Massachusetts!

And put that calculator down. No data crunching is allowed.

saying that global price hikes, inflation and supply chain shortages are disrupting the plan.

Typically, contracts between government entitles and private companies have built in provisions to take into consideration ... global price hikes, inflation and supply chain shortages ....

"What is the point of a windmill if it isn’t constantly producing energy?"The same point as the whole Global Warming scam......reward the big Donors, who effected the Big Steal, to funnel taxpayers' earnings into their pockets.

NO Green Energy project/production is economic at all, WITHOUT massive taxpayer subsidies.

Shutting down fossil fuels HAD to be done to get you to take their offerings in the shorts......period. You wouldn't buy their crap, otherwise.

Green energy projects are nothing more than Liberal Phallic Symbols to show the world how “in touch” they are.

Windmills typically ran a pump for a well to supply water to a farm. That’s about it.

What is the point of a windmill if it isn’t constantly producing energy?

Once you understand that all of the money the windmill produces comes at the beginning with the awarding of the contract. Then it all makes sense!

In other words he was interfering with ocean views of rich people as well as creating an obstacle course for yaghting while stealing their wind.

I think not, at these levels of inflation. There is not, nor should there be, an “automated” response to inflation at the level we are seeing. Projects MUST be reevaluated for feasibility. Waste must absolutely be watched.

Inflation is going to cause stagnation. If it’s of green energy, than so much the better.

There won’t be a single migratory bird left.

Thought the left liked wildlife. Guess not.
