“One clinical study showed that a moderate dose of pure THC causes psychotic symptoms in about 40% of people who lack a family history of psychosis. If you’re a casual user and your dosage is mild, that likely just means a touch of paranoia,” said neuroscientist Christine Miller, an expert on psychotic disorders.
Thirty-five percent of people who have experienced such symptoms, however, will go on to experience a full psychotic break, according to another study, if they continue their high risk environmental exposure by continuing to use cannabis.
According to multiple studies, for those who have ever suffered a full cannabis-induced psychotic break, the chance that, if you still keep using, you’ll eventually develop permanent schizophrenia is almost 50 percent. That’s a higher conversion rate than amphetamines, opioids or LSD.
But what really makes THC more dangerous than those other drugs, experts say, is that so few people consider it dangerous at all. “We know fentanyl is bad. We know meth is bad,” said Dr. Libby Stuyt, a recently retired addiction psychiatrist in Colorado. “We don’t know that marijuana is bad.”

This isn’t 60’s strains anymore.
Alcohol is worse.
Ask any cop, ER personnel, or rehab personnel.
That said I personally do none of the above.
Should be “These aren’t”...
I better lay off the reefer...
Just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean they AREN’T out to get ya! ;)
I don't even scarcely believe that line, which implies that it's only a matter of amount. No, it's the same drug, THC. The very same drug. Only difference with higher concentration is less hits for the same sinister thrill.
The THC level is out of control especially with edibles. Eat 3 or 4 strong gummies and you’ll be bouncing off the walls.
Some strains are dangerously close to LSD that they should be taken off the market.
It is not psychosis if they really are out to get you. You must act ‘natural’ or ‘they’ will get you.
“I won’t go schizo, will I?”
“same sinister thrill”
In my college days (many decades ago) I sampled marijuana.
I didn’t get a thrill (in fact didn’t like it all).
It wasn’t “sinister” either.
You would be far more persuasive if you focused on facts/data about real issues with marijuana and hit the pause button on the emotion.
Maybe in states where pot is still illegal... As someone who dealt with pot heads on a daily basis for 25 years, I can share a couple of observations. First the cops did not respond with us to most marijuana related calls. As hard as it may be to believe, the long term the behavioral and medical problems related to marijuana usage are now actually worse in the part of Washington State we live in. This is in part due to the fact that legal marijuana now outsells alcohol and cigarettes combined by two to one. And the illegal trade is just as large.
The FR drug dealers aren’t going to like this.
“It’s a distinct possibility.”

Worse than previous, or worse than alcohol?
Asking legitimately.
If you disagree then you're a Fascist who really supports Prohibition....../S/ (because sarcasm is so difficult to detect)
I have been very against POT for a long time until I got sick. Now I use Delta8 (hemp-derived THC). I also been vaping ecigs for over a decade after smoking for 23 years. Not single side effect to date. Been in the business for a decade to. I cant take pain killers because MRSA messed up my liver, so I have no way of getting rid of the pain unless its THC. Yes, it works, and yes I was very against it at one point.
How many alcohol related cases do the emergency rooms see a day?
I liked it back in the day, age 18-30. After 30 it just didn’t appeal anymore and I never missed it.
And yeah, there was some pretty strong stuff, even back in the early 70s when I started. I can remember basically tripping, unable to move or speak (quoting Keith Richards, “I wasn’t looking too good but I was feeling real well).
Only thing I desire to smoke are meats. Brisket, turkey, ham etc...
